Nice review and excellent photographs Richard. I love the Gran Puro line and have been smoking the Rancho 5.5x54 with no disappointments. The Libertad (5x52) as Volt mentioned, is another Gran Puro that I need to burn one of these fine days. Hope the weather is warming-up for you in the NoCal area...

Great review; the nice photos really add!
Was that Widmer Hef with or without the lemon?

Thanks for puffing new life into this thread and thanks for the compliments.

Sr Mike, I am using a 4 year old Sony DSC-F717, lately in manual mode as the electronics are getting tired. Apparently it can still put out some good stuff.

I had a few puffs of a Gran Puro Rancho and REALLY liked it. Nice toasty flavor. Heavily contemplating getting a box. They're like 75 bucks a box!

I was wondering if it was a Sony, they have a tendency to make the reds brilliant compared to other colors. I am still learning to navigate my DSC-H1. Thanks!

When I used to operate a business producing 35mm slides for business presentation via computer and film recorder back in the early 90's I used Fuji film over Kodak because I liked it's tendencies towards richer greens & blues.

Yeah, with all of the advanced digital equipment we have these days I am still amazed at how photography can still be a creative and interpretive artform. Although I usually set my white point prior production and check and correct when necessary the gray balance post production I tend to prefer the warmer colors in most cases, especially when dealing with cigars and food. Now you didn't just ask me what camera I was using to you could call out it's technical shortcomings did you?

Let's see some of those DSC-H1 photos, I bet they look pretty good.

Re: Another Good Cigar = Punch Santa Rita

As the humble OP of this thread I respectfully request that it be closed to any future posts.

Let me make it clear, this is not a swan song nor a retreat… more like a phoenix

I look forward to creating new threads that will hopefully provide stimulating conversation and inspired thought.

It is time to turn the page and see where the next chapter will take us.

The joy that I have received through these simple words and photos remains multiplied by the number of hearts and minds that pass this way.

As always my PM door is open to any questions.
