Definitely felt like a Nancy-pants, I will reserve this cigar for when I don't need to drive for about an hour.

Glad I searched for the reviews on this cigar. Started to think I was the only Nancy-pants in the jungle as well. The Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion packs some serious nicotine.

First few puffs were a little bit harsh and peppery. After that, smooth sailing towards buzz city. This cigar is characterized by a smooth full tobacco taste and aroma. No bite to it at all. A joy to smoke with nice easy draws laden with thick smoke.

Had a cup of Earl Gray with it, but now I think I need something sweet.

Sugar can help cure the buzz.

Only cigars I've had since that have come close to rocking me like this were a La Flor Double Ligero and a fresh ERdM Taino.

I have a Love-Hate relationship with most Joya De Nicaraguas's. They always look soooo good and oily...and I know they will kick my ass and give me a tummy ache...but I can't help but smoke them!

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

I love the celebracion! I did like the Antanos that I've tried but, it seems to me that the power overwhelms the taste a bit.....I got more flavor from the celebs is what I'm trying to say. For me, a Consul in either line is a very satisfying smoke without the time commitment. I'm growing to love these!

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

Okay, so I've had my second JdN Celebracion tonight and gotta say that I find it's on okay smoke. Definitely a powerhouse; I gotta concede that. The taste was heavy spice on a background of leather (didn't get coffee bean out of it or much else for that matter) and was consistent throughout with no change. The appearance was delicious: oily, slick. The burn was okay; I had to touch it up a few times and it took a while to light well. A slightly tight draw and not too much smoke. The last 1 1/2 inches was bitter, though, no matter how much I purged it. I'll come back to this again and see how it stacks up as I go.

I experienced no buzz with this though. Go figure.

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

I find the celebracion's much more mild that the antanos (maybe the vitolas I've had? robusto celebracion vs a corona antano) but I love both!

This was actually recommended to me by okierock here after he heard I liked the JDNs, I'm on the lookout for them!

I ordered a bundle of the Antano's after smoking just one. It kicked my ass too, but sometimes I love a good ass kicking!

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

I believe that the Celebracion is the same blend (or at least nearly so) as the Antano, but with a different wrapper that lightens it up a bit.

Not sure where I got that info...could have been a JdN hallucination.

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

Agree with DrStankus...I like the Celebracion a lot more than the Antaño. The Antaño are just too overwhelming for whereas the Celebracion lightens up enough not to be overwhelming but still deliver an enjoyable and flavorful experience.

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion.

Glad to see this thread still going........I'm still a big fan of the JdN line. After revisiting the Celebracion several times, I keep going back to the Antanos. I smoke the belis on a regualr basis. They are very consistent cigar to cigar and I got used to the power; I love em'. I believe they are a lot stronger than the Celebracion (at least the ones I've had) and I like the construction of the Antanos better as well. I still like the Celebracions........but I like the Antanos better.
