J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1 Review
Cigar Review Brand: J. Fuego – Master Blender Jesus Fuego formerly with Rocky Patel and genius behind the Vintage 1990 &1992 lines has developed these new cigars Frontmark/Vitola/Size: Gran Reserva Corojo #1 -Corona Wrapper: Proprietary Corojo Binder: Proprietary Filler: Nicaraguan, Honduran, Costa Rican Local / Online Sources: Puff & Stuff Cigars – Decatur, GA 4 sizes available at $9.50-$12.95 per stick Seriouscigar.com – 5 sizes available at $7.00 - $11.00/stick First Impression: Beautiful triple cap, milk chocolate color and flawless wrapper, stick is rock hard (as is all the cigars I’ve had and checked) Prelight Draw: Great draw, really nice sweet “barnyard” smell with a light grassy taste Light: Clipped with my Palio and lit with no problems Smoking the Cigar: First couple of draws reveals a silky smooth, slightly sweet and the creamiest smoke I’ve ever experienced. It coats your mouth with a coffee/caramel/slightly sweet fruity taste. Awesome! If you want to kick this smoke up a notch, no problem, exhale through your nose and the white pepper is explosive. This stick rocks! Ash: Held rock solid, white/grey that is firmly packed. Ashed about every 1.5 inches. Conclusions/Comments: I did not post the variations per third on this stick as the flavors and profile never changed. I guess you could call it one dimensional, but I love this dimension! Fantastic smoke that I’m looking forward to again. My Scale for rating is as follows: Appearance: 1-10 Construction: 1-10 Burn: 1-10 Taste: 1-60 Value: 1-10 For this cigar: A-9.5 C- 9.2 B- 8.8 T- 56 V- 8.0 For a total score of: 92 |

Re: J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1
A 92? Really? It should be a 74 just based on the name alone
Jesus Fire!anyways, oddly enough my friend smoked one of these last night that was gifted by the rep and he only got through 10 puffs before putting it down. I guess i'll have to try it and decide for myself. |

Thought I'd bump this. I believe a few people tried these at the Atlanta herf last Saturday.

Re: J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1
My B&M just got the whole line in. I picked up a couple of each because I have heard good things about them. I smoked the Corojo GR #1 yeserday at lunch and enjoyed it. I really agree with you on the one dimensionality of this stick! It had nice flavor profiles, but they never changed. When you lite it up, you think WOW, but by the end I was kinda hoping for something more. I really think this cigar will be good with some age on it.
I would rate it some where around 88.

Re: J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1
I met Jesus Fuego this at my local B&M. (I had just started smoking cigars and it was only the 2nd time I ever went into a cigar store!)
I talked to him a while and he was very freindly and helpful in educating me not only about his own cigars, but cigars in general. I like the Gran Reserva, but like the poster above, I prefer the Delirium.

Re: J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1
The Delirium's are very tasty. I liked the toro much more than the lancero. Probably one of the few lines that I preferred the larger RG to the lancero.

Re: J. Fuego - Gran Reserva Corojo #1
I like the Natural of this line more than the Corojo. I loved the Delirium lancero. Fuego makes good sticks!
