Pelo De Oro corona by Felipe Gregorio Review

my 1st review, bear w/me!-i picked up a few of these after hearing how they used a type of tobacco that hadn't been used since the embargo-maybe it's hype, but they got me-had a tight draw that relaxed after a light massage-lit easily, smooth smoke no harshness-i'm no good at describing flavors, the best i can do is compare it to other sticks i've had-this was similiar to a Partagas Spanish Rosado mixed w/a JLP-sorta sweet, sorta spicy, sorta tangy, flavors fading in & out throughout the smoke-med bodied up to med/full a couple times-i 've heard people talk about sipping a cigar & i think i finally experienced it-if i drew as i usually do, it got hot, bland & was lacking in smoke volume-if i drew carefully, the taste was great & plenty of smoke

my ratings system is pretty simple:
1) yuck-run away
2) good-buy again but only at cbid prices
3) good-buy again at retail
4) buy a box, where ever i can find it

this rates a 3

IMHO this is the best smoke in the Felipe Gregorio line. The Power never impressed me too. Thanks for the review.

very simple rating system, but yet I could still place every cigar I have ever smoked into one of those catagories...

Nice review. I like this cigar too. I've noted a pronounced flavor of cinnamon in the prelight draw (it goes away when you light the cigar). Anyone else notice this?

According to your scoring system, you would buy these again at retail. I guess you've seen what the asking price is for these cigars?

Re: Pelo De Oro corona by Felipe Gregorio

yep, neighborhood of $400 for 50-$200 for 25 ain't terrible compared to some of the Pepin stuff, i'd take these over the pepin blues anyday for $50 more

side note:i didn't say i could afford to buy them, just that i think they're worth that compared to others in the same range
