An open letter to VS Primeros

Hi... you may not remember me, but my name is Dan. We met last Friday on the golf course. You were dry and standoffish... I'll save you from any lies, I wasn't expecting very much from you and boy oh boy, you delivered.

We were strangers before this encounter but you smoked like you held a personal grudge against me... I'd go as far as to call it a vendetta. I’ll describe you as one-dimensional and vegetal, a word I couldn’t pinpoint until we met… you were like drinking vegetable oil. I cringe at the very memories of it.

Around the 2/3rd mark of our encounter, you really fell apart. Your wrapper came off quicker than a prom dress in a prison shower and you literally poured your guts out. I am all about second chances and being there when the going gets rough, but you are a special, sad case and I genuinely hope we never meet again.

Regards,

Dan

Re: An open letter to VS Primeros

There has been more than one VS Review on CS that has saved me money. I'll just add this one to the pile. But damn, some of them look good.

They have some "pinch-the-end-and-it-opens-up-no-need-for-a-cutter" feature... I thought that was interesting, but it wasn't enough.

I tried a fiver of them. They were built ok but no flavor. I just gave away over half a box of Vintage Selects too. The Bohemian line are ok but I would never buy a box of them, even on c bid. Sorry VS, I gave you an honest chance, buh bye now.

Call me crazy but I really enjoy the regular line Victor Sinclair (Lonsdale 6 x 44) Connecticut wrappers. Sweet, Mild, creamy and consistent they are never harsh or bitter...Perhaps a bit one dimensional but...NICE!

I'm a fan of the 55 Maduros and the VS Vintage... Too bad on this one.

She is an evil mistress that Primeros. I never want to see her again either. However, my good friend Doug and I are on the same page. The "Blue Label" series 55s aren't bad, and the Vintage Selects (VS) with some age will do as well. Regrettably (I guess) I don't think I will get any more of these in the future. For the price difference I just can't pass on the Famous 3000s. And I have found too many Holts closeouts at similar/better prices than the VS VS that I like more.

The one Victor Sinclair cigar I will stock on a regular basis is the Connecticut Yankee. Authentic Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper - you just don't find that very often. Very well balanced flavorful cigar that can be had for a song at CBID (if you bid correctly)!!

FWIW,

BillyBarue

Re: An open letter to VS Primeros

Maybe it was due to poor handling on my part... perhaps it dried out or something... it DID spend a couple days in the freezer. I don't know...

Thanks, I may have missed it otherwise.

Nice twist on the review too!

Re: An open letter to VS Primeros

I just smoked one of these two nights ago, and I think they are allright. Better than most of the 5 Vegas that I've had (I've yet to have a good one). Thus far I've tried the 55, Bohemian, Vintage Select and the Primeros. Out of all of those, the Primeros was my least favorite, but it wouldn't be bad for the golf course or something...
