1999 Sosa Pyramide #2's Review

This was a cigar from an unopened box that I purchased back in 12/04. The box had been laid down to rest on 6/7/99 by the previous owner, a friend of mine who has slowed down his consumption of cigars and no longer wanted it. As I sit here on this beautiful Sunday afternoon waiting for the plumber to show up and clear my clogged drains I decide to break open this box of Sosa’s and see what my 150 buck had gotten me. At first glance I noticed that the cello wrappers where golden yellow. My favorite color! It was obvious that these cigars had been resting for a very long time. I pick out my victim and proceeded to pull the cello off. The first thing I noticed was the wrapper felt as smooth as the thigh’s that it must have been rolled on.. I seem to find this among many of the aged cigars I have smoked. The wrappers tend to have this smooth velvety feel to them. They just feel nice to the touch. I grabbed my trusty Havana Cigar Cutter and headed out to the patio. As I sat there contemplating the 100 dollars the Plummer was going to charge me for removing one of the girl’s tampons from the pipes I clipped the end of my Sosa and settled in for what I hoped would be an hour of pure smoking pleasure. And that’s exactly what I got!!! What a great cigar! Upon taking my required pre light draw I noticed a slight tingling feeling on my lips and a wonderful taste of cinnamon. I knew this was going to be good. I grabbed my lighter and torched this puppy up. As I took that first draw my mouth filled easily with smooth clouds of smoke. She began with mellow hints of pepper and spice and then about 1/3 of the way in, from one draw to the next she turn to a mellow smooth woodsy taste that was just awesome. This continued to the very end when she came back strong and ended with a nice little kick. I think it was her way of telling me she wouldn’t be easily forgotten. In conclusion….What a great cigar! For all you out there who only smoke your Habanos, you are really missing out. There’s a whole other side to this cigar thing. It’s called aged Non-Habanos. I’m just thankful I have 24 of her sibling sitting over there in my humi..

really?

i like the reviews with stories attached. the kind with just dimensions, etc, kinda boring. i wanna know what else was going on around you at the time.

got a chuckle out of the 'tampon' comment. i was gonna make a smartass remark about steroids, being that it is a Sosa.

I'm just glad to hear your still offing the domestics over there. From reading your posts I felt that maybe you had gone to the dark side ....for good!

i still smoke "domestics" from time to time. although a few people think i'm some kind of cuban elitist that won't touch a non-cuban, they're wrong.

In my non cuban exploration, I was surprised that there is a lot of good cigars out there. Great review Bird! hope you start doing more reviews.
