Don Lino African Kuro Review

The retailers take:

Made in Nicaragua, this blend is a work of art. In fact, Don Lino Africa is a cigar you may be tempted to walk over your fellow man to get. It’s a complex offering composed of Habano-seed wrappers with long leaf filler tobaccos hail from Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and the west African country of Cameroon. These extra-select tobaccos have been aging since 1999. It’s extra potent and rich, packing a full-flavored, multi-layered punch.

Tin of 4.

MSRP: $17 Category: BOXES
Cigar Size: 4.0" x 45 ring

Now, for mine:

I had an Africa before, and man, I fell in love... I fell hard. There was a sweetness to that cigar that makes vanilla ice cream comparable to lemon juice concentrate... yeah, I was hooked.

I do worry about the flavor profiles from different vitolas, though... the one I had before was the Duma size (which is 5"x50). I love a good short smoke on lunch breaks (I live across the street from my office) and while I was trying to figure out what to smoke, I remembered these. I've never tried this size, so I was a bit wary.

The wrapper was deliciously oily and the construction looked perfectly solid. I settled down with a book, clipped, and lit up. That sweetness was still there... the first 10 or so puffs were amazing and then the sweetness took a back seat (well, more like a passenger seat, because it was still there) and the flavors kept coming. This is a complex smoke, but satisfying beyond belief.

around this size it burned a little hot, but that was because I was pulling off it once every 7.3 seconds... my god, was this fantastic! I didn't even crack my book open... I couldn't bear to distract this smoke with anything as mundane as a great read. I instead called my fiance and chatted with her for a bit.

I could not put the down... I was going through withdrawals setting it down for the time it took for its multiple photo ops. I felt like Dave Chappelle's crack fiend character...

^ actual size: really friggin' small... really. ^

I could not put this thing down. My lips and tongue felt as though I was making out with a forest fire by the end of this, but it was worth it. I just put some bids in at the devil for more of these.

Smoking time: 35 minutes

Thanks for reading!

Try Atlantic Cigar, BestCigar, Cigar International, or Famous. They all have them according to Cigarcyclopedia.

Re: Don Lino African Kuro

One of my local B&Ms had the Africa line selling at half price. Having dabbled before and really enjoying the line I had to pick up a fiver of the robusto size. They had a ton of them over the past year but were really going through their inventory w/ this sale.

Holy crap... that deal isn't still going on, is it? I'd likely buy a box...
