Re: NUb Contest

Something numerical seems to work pretty well around here (how many ________ ). How many cigars you smoke in nicaragua, box price, blends to find that perfect one, whatever. That way more than one person can win (the three closest, or whatever).

If you want creative however, how about something like who can create the nub logo out of the most unique items. (Cigar items, cigars, people ash, whatever...).

Re: NUb Contest

Almost definitely any kind of numerical guesstimates are good.

You could really do all sorts of things...heck, a poetry contest would be pretty off the wall here at CS, and I bet there's some writers lurking around

A lottery is always a way to decide things.

I guess the question is, what and how many prizes are you giving away? That helps set some guidelines for the contest ideas.

Re: NUb Contest

Story contests are fun. You could do something where people tell when they were having a cigar or wanted to have a cigar and a typical cigar didn't fit but a NUB would have been perfect. Then you can use the winning story/stories as part of your marketing materials. Anyway have a great trip.

Re: NUb Contest

Some of the best contests on here have been a series of trivia questions, having to get answers to all, and sometimes they're very specific and rough to just google (ie you would have to know exactly what it is to figure it out). There's always some great responses to those, especially if it's got a nastalgia aspect to it.

Personally, I like the number's games. Pick how many this and that, or random drawings from all contestants.

Re: NUb Contest

I remember you saying that, despite their short size, your cigars burn for a long time and to set aside time to smoke 'em. I think that a story contest of either a) when someone will smoke it and what environment they'll smoke it in or b) a story in which they sat down and had a long smoke with friends, acquaintances, strangers, whoever! That way when the reviews come in, you can get a better demographic of how people smoke and under what conditions people smoke. Or, y'know, you could just draw from a hat. That always works.
