Rattray's Old Gowrie
Just finished smoking some Old Gowrie, Very nice smooth and mild. A lot nicer than that CB I have been smoking. One problem was quite a bit of moisture in the pipe towards the end. Could not keep it lit. Should I have left the tobacco out for a while to dry maybe that would have helped?
Anyone else run into this?? Thanks |

Re: Rattray's Old Gowrie
Drying will definitely help, just don't "dry it out". Every blend is unique and every pipe smokes differently, you just have to feel your way thru it. After a while, you just "know" the perfect consistency. Also, if you find it a wee bit damp during the smoke, don't feel shy about putting it down for an hour - sop out the gunk with a pipe cleaner and let it sit a bit. The baccy will stabilize its moisture, and you can get back to it and enjoy the rest of the bowl.
