    Roadtrippin with Smitdavi!

Well since I seem to be on the road ALL the time, I'm going to start a thread of things I see, or come across, while on the road.

Just a little background on what I do:
I currently work for Heartland Payment Systems as a Field Service Rep. Basically what I do is install credit/debit equipment, and trouble shoot any problems people might have. My territory is the entire southern half of Indiana (Indianapolis all the way south to Kentucky). So I travel through a lot of small towns and two lane highways. But I just wanted to share some of the cool things I see on a daily basis!

So, today I drove 346 miles:

I saw 2 wieners today, well 3 if you wanna....nevermind back on track. I saw the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile on the highway, and then when I was driving through a small town I looked over to see this car parked in a yard with a huge ***** painted on the side of it. I def did the double take on that one, lol. I was like "what the hell!!!"

Another thing that I saw that was pretty cool was, were old school telephone poles with the glass "jar" looking things. I've never seen those before.

Anywho...stay tuned for Monday, as I'm sure I will be back on the road again!

Here's a picture of what the poles looked like. Some of you probably have, but I know I had never seen them.

Those are glass insulators. Like me, those are antiques now.

Some folks even collect them ... http://www.insulators.info/

    Drive carefully.

Yeah my uncle actually collects them, and I've only seen them that way. Along this highway there was almost 20-25 miles of these old utility poles/glass insulator combos. It was pretty neat!

Yeah, this highway was along the railroad tracks. I was doing some reading and this seems to be common to find them along railways.

Are they still in use, or are they just left there to rot. A monument of a time since passed?

    168 miles today:

Didn't really see anything exciting today. I did see one nice looking Lotus Elise.

The one thing that stood out today was that I saw a Goodwill Outlet store that was as big as some of the Super Wal-Mart stores.

Hopefully have more to report tomorrow

    115 miles today:

While I was driving on a rural two lane highway today, a dump truck passed me filled to the brim with firewood hit a bump right before I passed him going the other direction. Three or Four pieces of wood fell over the side and I almost got pelted, thanks to a quick maneuver I avoided all mayhem.

Something else I saw to day while doing an install in a liquor store was a bottle of absinthe selling for almost 80 bucks!!!

    78 miles today:

I saw one of the biggest turtles i've ever seen. This thing was huge. I was seriously afraid that it would mess up the front of my car if I were to run over the top of it. Other than that it was a slow day!
