So after a long hard day of work I get home and my girlfriend says - hey I want to go save some Blue Crabs...
So off we go to help - long story short every year these female Blue Crabs try to cross from the Lagoon to the Sea to lay their eggs. There is so much traffic as the critters try to cross four lanes of traffic that many of them dont make it.
So as we battle the Dengue mosquitos (which I tried to repel with an RP Fusion) and pick them up in buckets using gloves and brooms and then off to deposit them in the Sea.
Here is a shot of my girlfriend with the first five we picked up...
A Parable: A freak storm washed up millions of star fish onto a beach and were subsequently baking in the sun and dying. One young man was carefully throwing them back, when an older man asked him what he was doing. He said, "you can't possibly make a difference" with all these starfish. The young man quietly walked past him and placed a star fish back in the surf. He turned to the man and said, "I made a difference to that one didn't I!"
I grew up on Chesapeake blue crab, but believe in take what you need and leave the rest.
Nice effort down there - watch the pinchers. Looks like a nice way to pass an evening.
