Does this bug anyone else?

I get a nice snifter of cognac, grab a favorite cigar and head to the porch for a nice relaxing evening. I sit down light my cigar and a damn fruit fly kamikazes into my drink.

I really hate that!

course realistically I take the bug out and resume my evening, but still its annoying.

I feel your pain. Don't particularly care for it when I dump ashes into my drink either.

Re: Does this bug anyone else?

I hear ya which is why I use a flask all the time now. I refill it and always keep it by me when I am outside with my cigar. I only use the good snifters when I am inside the house.

I always use this to get rid of fruit fly infestations. It works like a charm. I hope it helps.

Re: Does this bug anyone else?

We don't have the fruit fly problem yet, we have mosquito and house fly problems after about 2/3 weeks of on/off rain its hard to get rid of them. I usually bring a small magazine or something similar to cover my glass when I go out to drink n enjoy a cigar. I wish my porch was screened in, but it wouldn't look right on the front of my house.

I have 2 traps set but they just keep multiplying... and multiplying. I have gotten rid of all visible and potential water sources other than my fish tank... And I keep the trash covered and any food in the trash or up respectively...

You might be able to market the back yard fruit fly brew as a new mixed drink trend.LOL

Re: Does this bug anyone else?

Reminds me of a joke:

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scot sit down at the bar and each order a pint of Guiness. After receiving their pints, 3 flies fly over - one lands in each drink.

The Englishman pushes his away, saying "barkeep, kindly pull me another pint."

The Scot says, "ah who cares!?" and drinks the pint.

The Irishman grabs the fly by the wing, picks him and yells, "Spit it out ye wee bastard!!"
