That may've been part of it, but honestly, I don't think anyone was beating LSU in Death Valley tonight.

48-7 LSU final.

Honestly, I don't think VT did anything wrong per-se, and I don't think it has anything to do with the shootings. If anything, constantly reminding players of the tragedy will only serve to demoralize them. LSU has an amazing defense this year, and have the home-court first-home-game advantage. That's stacking 3:1 odds against VT already.

Had this been at VT, The score may have been a bit more like 24-14, although I think LSU still would have won.

That's quite generous, but I still think the spread would have been much more than that....come on...

So does anyone think that Les Miles will take some heat this week for the "Offense being a little vanilla?"

That's "wantango" offense to you guy. I think he just invented a new one - like "west coast" and "run and gun".

There's talk that if the season continues as it has thus far, he might be getting an offer at his Alma Mater (rhymes with Schmolverines)

I think anyone who complains that can piss up a rope (figuratively speaking). He was hired to coach and win football games. Whether LSU wins by one point, or by 41 points, they win. His job is not to make every overweight middle age LSU fan who "lives and breathes" LSU football like him. Someone somewhere will find something to complain about. They run/pass too much/little. Soandso gets too much/little playtime. The offensive/defensive line/special teams isn't doing something right. There will always be someone who thinks they know better and disagrees.

The only thing that will kill Les Miles now is if LSU starts showing horribly low attendance to games. The only way to get low attendance is to have losing seasons. He's not losing.

I agree. I was somewhat confused how you could win a game 45-0 (Miss St) and still have people complaining. Unfortunally, like you said, unless they are on the sidelines or field, some people will never be happy.

LSU has some nice team speed and a very balanced offense. The defense is lights out!

Re: Lsu / Va Tech

I especially liked when Brent Musburger asked Kirk Herbstreit if he would consider giving LSU an AP vote over USC. Kirk said "No way", and some other silly comment. It just kinda pissed me off the way he said it...it sort of sounded like he was offended that anyone would ever consider giving another team a vote over USC as the #1 team in the land.

Yeah, shortly after that they compared LSU and USC schedules, and both agreed that USC had a much harder schedule No offense to Bama fans, but they claimed going to Alabama to play Saban is going to be a tough test . I can tell it pains all of the sportscaster nation to give the SEC and LSU it's due credit. Thats ok, I sorta thinks that makes all the wins that much more special.

Exactly...that's fine. I want SC to go undefeated, as well as LSU so we can get a beat-down date in the Dome!
