How about those USF Bulls beating Auburn
I know when the coach for Auburn decided to let the clock run out in regulation with like 20 or so seconds left and not opt for a play or two to try and win that his team would loose in overtime.
And the USF BULLS made him pay for it. What a game!!! GO BULLS!!

I can't say that I am entirely taken by surprise with that result. USF is a solid team, and is well coached. Auburn was short some key players with a shaky QB and an OC who may well be on shaky ground himself, but I think USF would have given them all they could handle even with those players. The game really should have never gone to OT.
Of course, the fact that a couple of their tailbacks were guys who originally signed with Alabama made their victory a little sweeter for me. Now, Alabama needs to do the job themselves in a couple of months. I would say that Auburn is going to struggle this year (and there is a very real possibility that the wheels could come off in a hurry there with the right turn of events), but at the same time Tubberville usually does a better job coaching when he is staring down a barrel than when he is favored to win. Anyway, kudos to USF and best wishes the rest of the way. It is a great story for a young program. |
