Would your CS name indicate you are a tad biased against the Yankees?

A fair bit more than a tad I'd say. But seriously....this guy in the post-season is hilarious. He's 4-47 (.085) in his last 14 games with 0 RBI. The stat I like even more is that he's 0-28 in his last 28 road at bats. You almost have to try to accomplish that.... So we'll see if the friendly confines of Yankee stadium and the fair weather A-Rod fans give him a more comfortable at bat....yikes.

Re: A-Rod

I have 8 runs and 2 RBIs for Arod in the Yankee Post Season contest. I am starting to like my chances. At the moment 0 & 0 is in the lead

Can't rule the Yankees out yet, but Cleveland is looking pretty good at the moment.

Gotta Love Manny though. It seems when he flubs a ball in the field, he makes up for it with his bat!!! What a shot!!!

Re: A-Rod

Seriously, he murdered that ball. If it took a favorable bounce on the parking ramp, it's getting ran over on the Mass Pike right now. Two dancing chickens for the sox two wins.... Two cows for the Spanks....

How was Manny in the Clubhouse this year? Any good Manny being Manny moments? I do not get to hear as much since I moved to SC.

Re: A-Rod

I have to start by saying I am not a Yankee fan and I could give two strokes and a shake for A-Rod. If I hear one more Yankee fan cry like a little girl on sports radio about him I think I will snap.

Yankee fans have to remember that without A-Rod they don't even MAKE it to the playoffs this year. Yes the man makes a lot of money and he is expected to come through in the playoffs but there are more than few other guys on that team making quite a bit of cash themselves that aren't doing much either.

IMO he presses way to hard when he gets into the playoffs. I am sure he realizes he is 4-47 and that nearly every Yankee fan thinks he does nothing but choke so if he is pressing I can certainly understand why.

OK I will shut up now after sounding like the president of the mans fan club...

Granted, but this IS his JOB. He is expected to perform atleast at status quo no matter what part of the season it is. Underperforming is just not an option, and when he does part of his JOB is to deal with the consequences, which usually involve ESPN bashing and pissed off fans. Then some that come running to his defense as if he was their school aged little league player. "He's just stressed. He cant focus." Focus is his job, and stress is a part of the contract. He needs to learn to deal and perform, and stop blaming anything else than himself. I don't know what the problem is, but he needs to fix it and stop making excuses, or letting others make excuses for him.

This goes for all players. Not just the yankees.

Re: A-Rod

I agree this is his job but it also the Cleveland Indians pitchers job to get him (as well as the rest of the Yanks) out. 8 hits over 2 games...seems at least one team is doing their jobs

I just don't think this is ALL A-Rods fault and it seems every Yankee fan I have heard as of late wants to lay all the blame on him. To me it is a combination of things but top of the list has to be some GREAT pitching by the Indians.

Don't forget to put the bugs on the list ...

Yeah, according to Sterling their radio broadcaster, they "lost that game because of the bugs...." Sure they did

Well said. When you are one of the top paid players in the game, you are expected to perform like one in the playoffs. You have players who rise to the occasion and you have those who crumble under the pressure.

1997 ALDS SEA BAL .313
2000 ALDS SEA CHW .308
ALCS SEA NYY .409
2004 ALDS NYY MIN .421
ALCS NYY BOS .258
2005 ALDS NYY LAA .133
2006 ALDS NYY DET .071
2007 ALDS NYY CLE .000

He is the best player in the game and is capable of finding his swing tomorrow and leading the Yankees to the next round. But ever since game 4 of the 2004 ALDS, he has been a goat.

Re: A-Rod

As a Yankees fan, sure it sucks that his post season play is not stellar.
However, he is not alone.
Many greats also fail miserably in the post season.
From my recollection, even the new home run king with an asterisk has had less than stellar post seasons in his career.

Bottom line is anything can happen in a short series.
Generally, pitching rules.
Great pitching will always beat great hitting.
That is the way it is.
It is therefore not as simple to say "he chokes".

So, does he suck in the post season? Yeah.
Do I hate him or am I a crier as someone stated about Yankees fans? No.
Does it upset me that we spend lots of money for someone to perform and they don't? Yeah, just like in any job.
HOWEVER, the thought of him going to Boston is like pulling my nuts out through my throat.
I don't care if the Yankees never win a game again as long as the Red Sox go to another planet.
I like it more when we take their players and make them winners that they never were in Boston.
