Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
In my day it was Freddie Blassie, Bobo Brazil, Kenji Shubula and many others announced by Dick Lane at the Olymic Auditorium and Strelich Stadium. Yeah, we used to sit with my Grandpa and watch on Saturday night after Lawrence Welk. Somtimes we got to watch roller derby.

Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
For me if I think back I can hear Dick Lane yelling "WHOA NELLIE" when somebody did a great move. And I just remembered...Mr. Moto.

Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
You know something sad is that Bruno and Bob Backlund are are not in the WWE Hall of Fame. Between them there is 17 years of WWE title reign. But they both had a fallout with Vince at some point. So pretty much, most of the wrestlers they defended the title against are in the WWE Hall of Fame, but they are not.
Bruno really was a huge draw in the North East. That was pretty much the WWWF territory in the 70s.

Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
I remember when wrestling replaced boxing on Friday nights and then when wrestling was moved to midnight on Saturdays. Remember when there were multiple circuits such as the Northeast circuit with Killer Kowalski and others and there were the Texas and Oklahoma circuits that bred truly insane and evil wrestlers. It was a much better game when WWE did not control everything.

Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
Damn the memories with my dad in the mid 60's seeing these guys wrestle. Bruno was da man then. I loved this chit when I was a kid and dad used to take me to matches in Wilmington Delaware, I can remember getting these guys autographs. Wish I knew what happened to my auto book. I remember shaking Bruno's hand among a bunch of others. This chit was huge there. Place was full of fans yelling, cussing, smoking cigars. Man that stuff was fun, dad and I would talk for weeks about what we saw. He was really into that wrestling stuff. He'd watch it on tv and cuss the fellers he didn't like. Thanks for bringing back some kewl memories Vic.

Re: Ahh.....the olden days...
I was at a store across the street from the old Boston Garden before a card once. They had a couple of video games and I decided to play one to kill some time. Paul the Butcher Vachon started playing next to me. I had ringside seats
Here is an old school Steel Cage match with Bruno vs. George the Animal Steele!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGICVo7UIm8 Steele was a classic. Easily one of the best gimmicks in the sport!!!
