Major League Baseball Stadiums....
I'm currently on tour of every majoy league stadium and thought it would be neat to share which stadiums we've all been to and your favorite memory of your tours. First of all in order of my favorite stadium to least favorite stadium, here are the ones I've been to:
Fenway Park (7x) PNC Park Camden Yards Wrigley Field Citizens Bank Park Great American Ballpark Jacobs Field (again in a week) Rangers Ballpark in Arlington Comerica Park Rogers Centre (20+x) Shea Stadium RFK Stadium Cooperstown (Doubleday Field) even tho it's not really a MLB stadium It's tough for me to think of my favorite memory from a stadium. I'd be torn to pick between the first time I saw the green monster, my dad catching a home run ball by Pat Burrell at Citizens during BP, or catching a home run ball myself at Wrigley during BP. I waited for 4 hours before the game outside of Wrigley for front row seats in the general admission outfield and the four hours outside the stadium were almost as good as the four inside. One time I dragged my girlfriend to a Sox Blue Jays game at Rogers centre, stood 3 feet away from Brendan Donnelly and Kyle Snyder warming up and Brendan skipped a fast ball into the stand hitting my girlfriend in the stomach and left a welt the size of a softball. Synder appologized and later Donnelly came over and asked if she was OK and gave her the ball. But of all these memories I'd have to say my favorite was Game 1 of the World series in '04. Didn't have tickets to the game and couldn't afford the $2000 tickets were going for. The entire game I was at Boston Beerworks outside Fenway with two friends and my brother. When we watched the jets fly over the Park on TV it shook our seats. We drove 8 hours to Boston that night just to be there for the atmosphere and it was unforgetable. I still wear the hat I bought that night every playoff game I'm sure you guys have tons of great memories of stadiums out there way better than mine. I'd love to hear your thoughts on stadiums and advice for the rest of my checklist.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
If you haven't been to Yankee Stadium yet, go. They are tearing it down after next season so it's your last chance. Get Bleacher seats for a day game and sit with the Bleacher Creatures. Leave your hat at home. You'll thank me for the last tip.
Edit...short list for me...Yankee Stadium, Fenway, Rogers Centre and the Jake.

I was in graduate school at Fordham when Yankee Stadium was reopened in I think 1974? Went to a couple of games after the reopening. Could not believe the change in the old ballpark.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
It takes a beating from alot of people, but Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia is really a beautiful stadium. Good chance to see a few HRs during each game too with the close fences.

Fenway has to be the most historical.
Yawkey way is piriceless.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
Citizens Bank Park is really high on my list and was a shock to me. I had no idea the stadium was going to be as nice as it was. What a gem that park is. I love the concourse in the outfield how it's all outside and Greg Luzinski has a BBQ pit and signs autographs. That stadium got huge points. I saw on a 3 stadiums in 3 days road trip to Balt, Wash and Philly. I thought Camden was going to be the highlight, but Citizens was honestly a close second that I didn't see coming.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
I agree. With all the newer stadiums and attractions they're putting in their stadiums theres a feeling inside Fenway unlike any place. The atmosphere outside the stadium on Yawkey and Lansdowne is unlike any other I've been to (maybe I'm biased but I trying to put that aside). The monster is absolutely breath taking when you actually see how enormous it is. Fenway takes the prize for most historical and my favorite overall, but PNC Park is by far my favorite newer stadium, the view when you sit behind homeplate to watch the game is insane.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
The new Bush Stadium in STL is beautiful. It is truly baseball heaven in STL. The best fans in baseball and a very nice stadium.
ahh, Willie Mcgee hitting a game winning home run back in the day...classic I've been to the old stadium in Detroit(I was a little too young to remember much), Wrigley(never seen so many shirtless people, it was a cool stadium though), the Blue Jay's stadium, and YankeesThanks for sharing |

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
Most Beautiful Stadium in the World.
Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome........ I keeeeed, I keeeeed!!!! Ugliest monstrosity ever constructed to watch a ballgame. On a brighter note, the powers that be in the Twin Cities just decided not long ago to erect an outdoor stadium to fund "Poor Destitute Carl Pohlad" and his need for a home for the Twins, so the poor guys don't end up stadium orphans when the poorly constructed, designed and executed Metrodome falls down. I love to watch baseball, and I am not a rabid fan, but I do find publicly funded ballparks a miserable thing. "For The Public Good" and "addition to the Infrastructure of the State" be damned.

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
I, regrettably, haven't been to too many.
First time at Fenway I got to see Clemens pitching. I flew up there and landed at Hanscom Field. Awesome weekend. Saw McGuire hit his 54th (I think it was) at Busch. Awesome buzz going on during the Sosa-McGuire Race. New Comiskey ain't bad (I know the technical name is now "US cellular field" - blech). I think it's got a great menu, which is a big plus for me. Anybody who went to Old Comiskey says it was even better. I missed old Comiskey by a couple seasons. I've got to get to Wrigley. I like to bash the Yankees, but I have a great deal of respect for them. An American landmark I hate to see go - Yankee Stadium, is something I will definately get to next year before they tear it down. And the most memorable for me was when I was very young and my grandfather took me to RFK stadium in DC to see the Senators. I recall we were in right center and as a kid it seemed like second base was 5 miles away. It was miniatur bat day and i think that bat is still back at my folks house somewhere. Thanks for the memories! BillyBarue

Re: Major League Baseball Stadiums....
I've been to both in Chicago, the Metrodome, Rogers Centre, AT&T, and Dodger Stadium, but the one that beats them all is Miller Park. A great looking stadium both outside and in.

Been to
County Stadium Miller Park (Awesome for the new stadium era) Wrigley Field Wrigley is my favorite, Cubs fans are crazy even though they always manage to suck haha. Next years the year though...lucky number 100... The history of Wrigley is amazing too...I'd put Wrigley up against Fenway |
