I got his book "#19" autographed.

Best of all, the Wings won in a shootout. It was the most memorable game ever!
You have no friggin idea how jealous I am right now. How the heck did you score that?? That is AWESOME! I've met Illich once but that was when I worked for Little Caesars as a teenager and he happened to come in to our place.

My dad gambled enough at the Motor City casino and they comped him the trip to the suite.

They said they do it 3x a year. I guess Motor City casino is the main sponsor of the Wings, and they have a lot of pull. I still get excited thinking about meeting Yzerman. He really was very down to earth. I was kinda starstruck when I met him.

Joey Kocur had a cool personality too. He was crackin jokes, signing autographs...

It was a very memorable evening.

Your hawks have just had our number the past couple of seasons... definitely a dangerous team that I don't want the wings to face in the playoffs. They also have the best sweaters in the NHL.

Re: Detroit Red Wings

Last night's game was pretty disappointing. I just don't understand why the Wings are having such a difficult time with the Hawks this year. Not to take anything away from the Hawks, but c'mon! We haven't beaten them once yet. There's always later in the week when we play them again.

Speaking of playing them again, this schedule sucks. Why the hell do the make it so we play teams eight times a season. It would be sweet if we played every team twice a season, once at home, and once away. Just my

The kids are really making the Hawks exciting to watch so far, but I feel the same way about facing the Wings in the playoffs...they have so much talent, so much playoff experience, that they are very dangerous every year.

I agree about the sweaters, with the Wings' sweaters are right up there too....I'll take an Original Six jersey anyday.

It's not just this year....with a much less talented team, the Hawks were 7-1 against the Wings last season. I don't know if they just get up for the games against the Wings or what, because they did that to the Wings last year but consistently lost to the "door mat" teams.

The NHL used to have each team play all the teams in the opposite conference twice a season, home and road. They went to this new system to "promote inter-conference rivalries". I don't like the new system much either, going 2 or more seasons at times without seeing the Penguins, Senators, Bruins, Rangers, etc in Chicago. I'm sorry, but a just don't care about "rivalries" with newer teams like Nashville or Columbus. Rather see every team come to town every year....so I'm with you on that one.

Re: Detroit Red Wings

Dropped another one last night to the Blues. Damn you Hasek. I wanted to pull him after the second goal, which would probably be a little harsh and extreme, but would have made much more sense in the long run because he looked like crap. Once Osgood was in, it just seemed like the offense couldn't get rolling. I hate loosing games like this.

They're still first in the West and 2nd in the league....not too shabby.

Re: Detroit Red Wings

Wings fan, checking in from Dallas. I recently changed from Directtv to Verizon Fios, so I no longer have the Center Ice Package. I have only been able to see two games on TV this season (opening night and last night). Thankfully, HDNET has a couple on the schedule in Nov. Otherwise, it is nhl.com radio. I already have tickets for Jan 5 in Dallas.
