Colts Caught Cheating!

This has been brought up in the past before, but now we have some video evidence of what sounds like the Colts "crowd noise" c.d. skipping during the Pats-Colts game.

Watched it, and definitely noticed the CD skipping on the first run through, but why is this considered cheating?

The Colts wouldn't cheat by amplifying crowd noise any more than they would turn up the heat in the dome or slink out of town under the cover of night like a john leaving a hooker. Leave the Colts alone, we want to be the only cheaters. Since this was mentioned in Sporting News last night, hopefully it will be looked at by the NFL office.

Cheating? Thats funny. The youtube video is of a broadcast. I've heard of a technical problem with a broadcast before, haven't you? The crowd noise mic feed is separate from the commentary and they're mixed ... obviously the mic feed had a technical problem. Whoa, whoa, cheating. Uh....not. Videotaping opponents signals is cheating. Technical problems during a broadcast is not.

How about a comment from somebody who was at the game and who is a Patriots beat writer?

CROWD NOISE: So we’ve gotten a bunch of e-mails asking — not really asking so much as telling — that the Colts are pumping fake crowd noise into the RCA Dome. Now we consider ourselves connoisseurs of the practice, thanks to years of sitting in the upper bowl at the FleetCenter and marveling every time Celtics fans could go from 20 DBs to 0 in an instant. That was fake crowd noise. What we heard at the RCA Dome tonight sure as hell sounded like the real thing. After the Colts’ second TD, the place was literally shaking. Whatever the cheering sounded like on TV, rest assured it felt legit in person.

So ... cheating? I don't think so.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but .

Besides, who uses cds anymore for stuff like that? They'd already have it on the computers.

Anyway, if there is one thing I've learned by watching college football this year, it's that audio technical difficulties happen during a lot of sports casts. Don't you think Beliceck would have pointed that out to the officials had it sounded like that inside the dome? (sorry if he did, I didn't watch the youtube video, but I did watch the game last night).

One more thing... CBS (I think it was on CBS?) turned the crown noise down during the broadcast during the difficulties. Had it been someone from the Colts turning it down in the stadium, then wouldn't the real crowd noise still have been loud? Instead, all of the crowd noise got turned way down. The real crowd would have been loud still, it's a dome for crying out loud.

If it is true, this is not a new thing. The Seahawks as well as the Redskins have been accused of doing the same thing. I have been to many Redskins game in both Fedex and RFK and I could never hear any crowd noise coming over the loud speakers.

If this CD skipping is real then they must have heard it in the stadium and that will be reported in the news today somewhere.

I think you all have it wrong. Now I have to admit I am not a colts fan but they cannot be blamed for this. It is very obvious that the crowd was lip-cheering. this has been done before in the music industry.

It was most likely a technical problem. Someone probably swore loud enough to make CBS it a mute button and it did not work right.
