and I'm both shocked and amazed. Maybe we should start questioning Dungy's character? ... or is he still considered a saint?

![]() Actually, as soon as you turned on the game and saw that Rolle and another CB were out with injuries, it would be a big day for Manning.

. In a suprising move even the Pats themselves admitted that they were physically embarrassed by the Ravens. I'd be more worried about that fact and the fact that the Colts physically embarrassed a team that just physically embarassed your team, then I would with comments about Manning. And Please no excuses about injuries, the Colts have had more significant injuries this year than the Pats and Ravens combined.![]() ![]() Quote:
From the Baltimore Sun website: "Now you know why Colts coach Tony Dungy is well respected throughout the NFL. He stopped attacking the Ravens' defense midway through the second period and was content running the ball. He even refused to use his timeouts late in the second quarter when the Ravens were buried deep in their own territory late in the first half. If only New England coach Bill Belichick had half as much class. He would have gone for 60 points in the first half on the Ravens." Well now. The hometown paper acknowledges the Colts calling off the dogs in the second period, which is how I saw it myself. So I guess that settles that, now doesn't it? ![]() Last edited by ResIpsa; 12-10-2007 at 06:53 PM.. |

Also, don't talk to me about winning despite injuries. The Patriots invented winning despite injuries. IIRC it wasn't too long ago that the Pats won a Superbowl against the Eagles featuring TO, one of the best WRs in the league. Did they have either of their starting CBs in that game? No. Who played corner? Randall Gay and Asante Samuel both of whom were rookies one of which was an undrafted free agent. Among other injuries that year. |

Like it or not, the Colts may be defending Super Bowl Champions, but the Pats became King of the Hill when they Beat the Colts. Teams are going to focus differently on the two teams. Everyone wants to go be the team that beats the undefeated the Pats. Look at 85 Dolphins...They were not the AFC East Champions...they are the only team that beat the Bears. Does anyone brag about being one of the teams to beat the Defending Superbowl IXX champion 49ers 22 years later? Hell no!!! But I have seen Don Shula and Dan Marino both brag about beating the 85 Bears this month. So for a team like the Eagles, Ravens, Jets or Dolphins, a win over the Patriots would be something they could go down in history for... A win over the Defending Champion Colts......not really a big deal. The Colts already have two losses. Nobody is talking about the Colts defending their title outside of Indy. But everyone is talking about will anyone beat the Patriots.

Re: How About Them Colts
I said it early in the season and reitterate it now. . . Res is PM's Butt-boy!
![]() I've seen all season a rabid defense of the Colts and PM. And while they are a great team, Res seems incapable of giving anyone but the Colts props. A little perspective and reason in appreciating some of the best atheletes on the planet (whether you cheer for them or not) would be nice. I understand being a fan of a team and player, but having blinders on is a little simplistic. IMHO. . . ![]()
