College football's funniest moment 2007

Besides App St beating Michigan, it had to be Texas assistant ball boy Chris Jessie (who is also Mack Brown's step son) trying to grab a fumbled ball in the Pacific Life bowl game last night. What a great opportunity for SW Airlines "Wanna Get Away" ad campaign. Can you say Darwin Award nominee

I think the play was already considered dead, otherwise they would have had yardage tacked on for even being on the field during the play.

Notre Dame's whole season...Especially the loss to Navy!!!

If LSU wins....a two loss team winning the BSC Championship.

I would love for Ohio State to win because as an ACC fan, I am sick of hearing about the SEC. Wish academic requirements and graduation records were required for bowl games.

Actually, it was ruled a live ball. A backwards pass that was knocked down, so was a live ball. The "illegal participation call meant the ball became a dead ball upon contact (if it really did contact) with the ball boy. Otherwise, it would have been a fumble recovery by the Texas guy who picked it up and ran back to around mid-field.

I feel sorry for the ball boy. He either got caught up in the excitement of the moment, or, more probably, thought it was a deflected forward pass and dead, and was doing what he was suppose to do, retrieve the ball to return to the ref. Unfortunately, this incident will follow him for a long time. On the positive side, the mistake did not lose the ball game for his team, so he should have lesser embarrassment.

They are. Many players have been forced to sit for the bowl game because of not fulfilling their duties as a STUDENT-athlete.

Be careful what you wish for. The ACC isn't exactly Ivy League!

I think that's a little low of a shot. A lot of those kids were picked out by the colleges and offered a free ride to play. Sure a lot of those kids were picked by the colleges with offers of a free ride, but doesn't that undermine the ones who ARE capable of maintaining the academic standards just as badly?

Besides, it's not just the SEC, every school does it to some extent.

As for me, the funniest moment of the season was the combination of every team with a chance to play for the BCS Championship blowing it week by week and letting OSU and LSU back into it. How fortunate for OSU to not even play and still get a chance for the Championship?

I guess if it is singular it has to be the 'Boys of Troy' (USC) losing to the Cardinal (Stanford) at home after being favored by 41 (or something like that).

Mic losing to a Sub Div I..whatever..

Last night was pretty funny as well. It was a live ball. Half the distance was tacked on and ASU scored when it should have been Texas' Ball..

But Texas won so he gets a pass

Apparently mathematics isn't required for ACC fans, so let me give a brief arithmetic lesson:

SEC #1 vs. ACC #1 = 48-7 @ss whipping!!

All in good fun, bro....our hearts have certainly been with the Hokies this year after we were reminded how trivial a thing football can be when tragedy strikes.

This is awfully funny when FSU and Miami are in the ACC. Need I remind you...

"An academic cheating scandal could leave Florida State without as many as 25 players when the Seminoles go against Kentucky in the Music City Bowl Dec. 31. ..."

Re: College football's funniest moment 2007

Good point on FSU, should have worded it as individual schools within the ACC with UNC, Duke, and BC which would all have been rated higher with academics figured in. Lesson to be learned, do not post here if you have just drunk some homebrew of unknown strength. Good point guys, still hate the SEC but retract my academic comments.
