In my original post I referenced Oregon as being a mediocre team that beat USC in COMPARISON to the author of the article in the OP's link calling Arkansas a mediocre team that beat LSU. They had the same record as Oregon at the end of the regular season and if you watched them throughout the season you would know they had the ability to beat just about anyone on any given day if they were firing on all cylinders.
I actually do read the posts. So, calling the Oregon team mediocre is a compliment now? Let's us take a look at the first one of yours that I responded to:

If USC jumped Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, AND LSU in the AP, then the AP is just showing how useless their poll really is.
It seems to me that you are attempting to say that USC lost to a mediocre team in Oregon. You even utilized all caps to put emphysis on the word. My point is that when Oregon played USC, they were not fielding a mediocre team. In fact, that team was able to sustain a high level of play while enduring season ending injuries to three starting wideouts, two linebackers and a running back off the top of my head. They were not able to overcome the loss of their starting qb, partly due to the season ending loss to the redshirting qb best suited to step into the spread qb position if Dixon were to go down. This happened about three weeks prior to losing Dixon. so, yes, i stand by my assertion that you know little about the Oregon ducks and I doubt you watched them play many games this year. If so, you did not see them play with their full compliment of players.

Did someone of you guys say USC wouldn't have been in the playoffs? Really? Based on what? That they won another PAC 10 Title?

Georgia could get an at large bid. Same with Missouri.

Re: USC might get a split championship!

Oregon would have been in the championship game if they didn't lose their QB. And based on the numbers...Dixon would have been in the Heisman running..

Plus we saw what Orgeon did to a Big Ten team...

Based on living in SoCal and having to live and hear the hype all the time...u$c is so overhyped and media driven it's not even funny. They may be an ok team in the Pac-10, but they wouldn't survive a minute against the powerhouse teams across the country that they make sure they never play...

They really aren't as good as the media makes them appear to be, just check out the NFL play of the "graduates" from the "school"...

I think they are a great team. Just didn't play well enough to get to the big show. Injuries, etc. just like every team has to deal with. They are probably as tough as anyone at this point in time.

Wait till next year!

And my personal favorite...

If the queen had balls, she'd be the king.

So who would win in a fight between Batman and Spiderman? Who cares...they're not playing in the national championship.

Let me correct you, if USC had two loses in triple overtime, Kirk Herbstreet and his sidekick whose name I can't think of right now, would be telling the country there is no team in the country that could handle USC, They'd be ranked #1, and excuses for a loss in the NC would already be made for them.

Re: USC might get a split championship!

All this conversation is still just BS.

There is no champion.

All that is being argued is who you guys want the media to name number one. Do you guys really respect the media that much?

USC (which I have no respect for) has just as much right to ask the media to say they are number one as LSU. Either way it doesn't mean because they didn't have to play each other or beat a group of top teams to prove they are champion. These teams all get to the end of the season where they quickly slap on the big foam #1 finger and hope the media likes them this year.

Vote democrat and they can all have a trophy so everyone feels good.

Who cares? We need a playoff.

I can answer that and if anyone disagrees thats fine. It's just my opinion and well we all know what they are like.
It all started when the BCS ranked us behind you (OSU) the next to final week in the polls. EVERYONE who voted KNEW that UGA wasn't going to be in any type of championship game. EVERYONE who voted decided that we were the 4th most POPULAR (these rankings have little to do with ability IMO) program at that point. Then OK beat Mizzou. I think we all expected that. NO problem the BCS thought. We will just move OSU up one spot.
Then PITT beat WVA. Now LOGIC would dictate that since #3 moved up two spots to #1 then why wouldn't #4 move up two spots to #2? After all, we were ranked there before all this BS started. Instead we dropped a spot to #5. What really pisses me off is that if ND, USC or any other MEDIA favorite had been in our spot they would've moved up to #2 with no problem. I don't know if that's because the MEDIA doesn't like the SEC or UGA. To me it's inconsistent. Just another reason to have a playoff system.
With that being said. Go Tigers. Bring the SEC ANOTHER NC !!

Re: USC might get a split championship!

The reason Im assuming you guys didnt move up is becaues you did not play an extra game like the rest of the top 10 or whatever it was. I understnad ur logic of 4 should move to 2, but i think we all know that you guys shouldnt be ahead of LSU or any other team that won their conference. Georgia is a damn good team but the cards fall that way sometimes. Look at Auburn a couple years ago...its all good, UGA has a damn good program and this wont stop it.
