Freshman year of High School/Jr High, undefeated football state champions

Soccer, adult men's open division silver medal in state olympiad, coach and player on that one, best our small town's ever done

Have a lot of indoor soccer season Championships but you only get a tshirt there Tshirts actually rule over trophies. Don't have a single trophy, got ALL my tshirts!

Pitched my team's final game of our state championship year. Got the victory and gave up one run despite the team making seven errors. Pitched out of several "jams" that game. That was 1986.

Other than that I remember mostly the bad decisions, errors, misplays, etc from all of my sports...including adult league stuff.

A very memorable occurence was, during an adult basketball game as a twenty year old, running full-speed into a pick set by former Dallas Cowboy O-lineman Stuart Gottlieb. He didn't budge; I bounced off of him like a pinball. Knowing what I know now, I suffered a pretty bad concussion--vomitting, seeing stars, a headache. I tried to keep playing, but I couldn't put myself back in even though I was player/coach. My left leg bruised on the opposite side of where I ran into him.

Ouch! That sounds like about as much fun as running full-speed into a Humvee.

First, 8th grade playing against the team that decided if we went to state or not, the hated(still remember) Lincoln County, TN. team. If we tie or win, we go on they stay home. 0 goals, and 2 minutes to play our keeper rushes out and blocks a shot that goes back 25 yards or so. Other team picks up the loose ball, fires at the open goal, I attempt a bicycle kick(very difficult see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07u0Oj1RhyM) actually make perfect contact and save the goal, and saved the game, one of the mom's was a photog, and had been snapping pictures all game, actually got a picture of the stunt. Dad still has it on his desk at work.
Just to preface this second one, I'm always the guy that hits the glorious volley wide, over, sidenet, or right at the keepers, but rarely in.
much more recent, playing against Rammestein AFB in the USAFE Tournament. We must win, to go on to the final. With only minutes remaining in overtime, I take a cross off my head into the back corner of the net, scoring the winning goal and the single most beautiful goal I have ever scored in my entire life. I fly up the field like I have wings, clutching my shirt for everyone to see what squad I'm on and screaming like a banshee. I have bruises from that match, not actually from the play, but from 16 other players landing on top of me in the dog pile at half field. We won, and then lost against K-town in the final. oh well good times.
