Wow is all I can say. Heckuva game.

BTW, I actually think you could have argued for Tuck to be MVP. Too bad he all but disappeared in the 2nd half.

Very sad statement, coming from the person who said how sad you were and that you hated your life. You didn't lose the game, so why would you hate your life??

I don't like any football team much more than another, so that final statement in your post about my comment is moot. Cheers.

I will admit that the Pats will be back next year. NY repeating might be a stretch, but it could happen.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

Congrats to the Giants and all the fans. A Patriots loss is almost as good as a Steeler win.
Now, I think it all starts to fall apart for the Pats, video accusations about the Rams Superbowl. Your Karma just ran over your Dogma.

Love it!!

1. 18-1...no mention of this Pats team as the greatest ever...if you do not win the Super Bowl you are just that...2nd place...Nice!!!

2. I had money on the Giants. Straight up and on the line...Nice Score!!!

3. I had 7-4 as numbers on my football squares list...TY..No lie here!! Another nice $$$ Score...

4. Game on NFC East...Cannot wait for next year...What a power Conference....Return to Glory Even...

3. The Pats had one hell of a good year. Some will marginalize it because they lost tonight.

4. The Giants played in London this year. The Saints will play in London next year. Go Saints!!!

To hear the chuckleheads on Sportscenter right now, the Pats sucked. all of a sudden they aren;t good. what happen to 18-0. I hate the Pats as much as the next guy, but geesh, you don;t go 18-1 and then get called out like they are now.

I hate the media...not as much as the Pats, but still substantial

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

The Pats are good...but they are not Champions....

18-1 = 2nd place.

Tough way to go out but that is the way it is...

Only Super Bowl Champs can be considered the Greatest ever...

Party in Miami? I Think so...

Almost forgot.... That 4 quarter scramble/avoiding the sack and pass and circus catch is one of the best Superbowl catches ever.

As a life long Eagles fan, I feel your pain. Nobody gets grouped together like us. .......BUT

even though I am a "die-hard" Eagles fan, I rooted for the Giants (). There's gotta be a lot going against a team for me to root for an NFC East team.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

I guess the Patriots shouldn't have trademarked the 19-0 phrase before they played the game. Now instead of being remembered for being one of the greatest teams ever, the Pats will be known as the greatest teams to choke when it meant the most.

Congrats Giants! Who says the NFC can't compete with the AFC.

I wonder how many bottles of Champagne the '72 Dolphins sent to the Giants clubhouse after this game.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

I lost a lunch but it was still nice to see the Giants win. Both Mannings have taken a lot of grief from the media so it was nice to see them win back-to-back superbowls.

I must say though, until a great 4th quarter it was an ugly game.

The D-Line deserved it...but they were all good. Tough to choose a standout.

QB always gets the fan votes.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

Two thoughts...

1)When the Pats didn't attempt that 49 yard field goal and instead went for it on 4 and 13, I had a strange feeling that would come back to bite them in the ass.

2)This Super Bowl reminded me of when the Pats improbably beat the Rams a couple years back.

Oh, and as a Giants fan, I must also add that I hope Tiki Barber watched tonight. Hope he has as much fun in the Today Show studio tomorrow morning.
