The Giants defense didn't play well?

Even if you think the two team's offenses weren't playing optimally, you have to admit the Giants D was excellent holding that offense to 14 points.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

1) Best catch by using your head prolly ever
2) The commercials weren't that good (I was hoping because that was my hope in case of a rout)
3) Great tight game (didn't care who won just wanted a good game)
4) Is this the lowest score going into the 4th in how long?
5) I missed half time and the third quarter nubbing a Padilla Miami in the garage

One heck of a finish though!!!! I wish they were all like that.

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

I just got back home after a two hour drive from the Super Bowl party I went to on Long Island...

The defense was UNBELIEVABLE. Five sacks and a whole lot more hits on Tom Brady.

My lasting memory of this game was Eli getting the ball with less than 3 minutes left needing a touchdown and he got it done. It was a career defining drive. He dodged a sack and hit Tyree for a long gain. He got it done on the biggest stage there is, against the invincible Patriots. This one will be talked about forever.

I was wrong about him. I always called him Fredo. Archie was Don Corleone and Peyton was Michael. We had Fredo who always threw an interception in the big spot. This playoff run had me almost convinced I was wrong and tonight absolutely convinced me of it. Thank you, Eli!

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

I'm not a big football fan (baseball's my sport, and I follow it pretty much year round!) but I have to admit that the Patriot's unbeaten streak sucked me into this season's drama. I'm not really too upset, though, as I also love a good underdog story, so it was win/win for me! LOL.

My father on the other hand...well...he wasn't pleased.

i'll add a 3rd.
3) i don't know who they named MVP yet, should be tyree or s. smith, but if the Pats would've held on, it should've been w. welker.

Moss is a big, stinky poon.

Tiki should get ripped apart for his attitude from the past couple of seasons. How much was his tude holding this team back before?

Also, 18-1 is the worst record in the history of football. Period.

This was the best superbowl game i've seen. Eli was flat out awesome, and the Giants defense played amazing. It was everything I wished for, the Giants flat out played the Pats. Guess NE couldn't get their hands on any of the Giants practice tapes

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

I'm still in shock. I admit that I NEVER felt that the Giants could come up big against the mighty Patriots. At worst, I felt they might keep it close into the third quarter. It was inconceivable to me that they could lose this game and I was feeling pretty good after their fourth quarter drive for a touchdown.

Congratulations to the Giants and their fans. They obviously wanted this one more than the Patriots did. Eli played well, but I really don't think MVP caliber, that should have gone to the entire defensive line of the Giants. They were awsome.

Great season for the Patriots, I enjoyed every minute of every game, (well maybe not the last three of the Super Bowl). I was a fun ride.

Pitchers and catchers report in two weeks. Go Sox

Re: Superbowl XLII (Reaction Thread)

What a great game. Probably the best SB I have ever seen. Now that the Pats have lost (17-oops), maybe we won't have to hear all the dynasty and perfect season bs anymore. Long live the 72 Dolphins.

Here's a little trivia for Pats fan. Did you guys know that the Patriots are the first team to ever go 18-1 and not win a championship?
