2008 Fantasy Baseball

Anybody up for a CS fantasy baseball league? I can set one up in yahoo and we can have some sort of fantasy draft before the season starts.

Also and I don't know if this is allowed, but we can have some sort of cigar bet with this. Maybe everybody puts in 3-5 good cigars and we send them to a trustworthy outside party ( maybe a mod ) and whoever wins the fantasy league gets the stogies.

Sign up here and throw me some suggestions on how to make this work.

Count me in! I'm for head to head style. Stogie prizes would be nice, but I'm thinking with the long season it might be asking a lot for someone to take up that much space in his/her humi. Either everyone could send their "entry fee" in mid September, OR, the non winners could send the stogies directly to the winners. I guess it depends on how many we have playing- hopefully 12-14.

Re: 2008 Fantasy Baseball

hey just wanted to add that I'm going to change this to a live draft so when we get a decent amount of people we gotta get our schedule together. Also if anybody has a suggestion for somebody we can trust to send the sticks to let us know.

Re: 2008 Fantasy Baseball

Just joined up - can't wait to combine two of my greatest loves, fantasy sports and cigars. I've been playing fantasy sports (MLB, NFL and NBA) for years , mostly with guys I know from college. One thing I can say from experience is that you always want to collect the entry fees (cigars in this case) before the draft. Otherwise the commish finds himself having to nag the guys who didn't pay for the teams they drafted, and that's never any fun. Also, the guys who don't pay right away up front are usually the same guys who forget to update their rosters, never respond to trade offers, and so on - so who needs em anyway?

I second the sentiment here. Find a gorilla with a significant trader feedback to hold the sticks until the end. I just won a FFB league in January and I still haven't heard from some of the folks.

FBB is even longer so there is a greater chance of problems at the end.

Will need to be somebody with room to hold 60 cigars for six months if entry fee is a fiver!

I'll join and I agree pay the cigars up front. In Pitmangeek's and my experience, even the commish may disappear

yeah I've been in those leagues where everybody quits in the middle. We got to make sure we get our sticks to somebody we can trust before the draft, any suggestions on who can hold them?

Why don't we wait until the league is full and then whoever has the most trader feedback (and room) will be asked?

Kickass. I'm not in charge here but that sounds like a no-brainer to me.
