Re: Eduardo da Silva injury

I hope he is ok. It is a shame that his career may be ruined from shuch a horrible tackle. As an Arsenal fan, I thought about how it will affect them, then thought how selfish that was. I hope he gets better. That is the most important thing.

I worked up the nerve to look at a photo of the tackle yesterday and that's looking like a long recovery. Mid shin down looks destroyed. I hope he returns to play.

He's gonna miss the Euros this summer as well, damn shame. WC and Euros gotta be big dreams for footballing kids.

Cheers dudu, wishing you a speedy and full recovery

quite an ugly tackle. I understand that the fellow who comitted the foul didn't "mean to" but still at that level you have to know when you're gonna miss the ball, and the pictures I've seen show him missing the ball by quite a lot.

He did. It was so ugly. Even the bad tackle made on Senderos/Eboue (I forgot who it was on) two years ago was light compared to that one.

Re: Eduardo da Silva injury

As a former sweeper for only about 15 years, there is no difference when a hockey player raises his stick or skates as when a soccer player lifts his cleats. 3/4" studs can shred tendons, cartlidges and bones.

At some point it becomes assault and not an aggressive play. I have yet to see the guy slide tacking have to be carried off. When you get little or no ball, your a in my eyes.

Loses all sportsmanship for me and it becomes a war. Strong letter to follow.

Re: Eduardo da Silva injury

They're saying he could be back in nine months. I don't know though. I mean, his foot was practically severed. Few players come back from an injury like that. And of those that do, even fewer are ever the same. Henrik Larsson being one notable exception.

I wish him luck though, no fan of the game likes to see a player sustain that kind of an injury.

Re: Eduardo da Silva injury

I think it took Cisse (sp?) two years to come back from a similar injury. And he still isn't the same. I hope Eduardo a speedy and full revovery.
