Myron Cope Passes Away

Sympathies go out to Steelers fans and the Cope family on the passing of long term broadcaster Myron Cope. I have no details at this time, just read a quick notice on a Pats board.

Re: Myron Cope Passes Away

He will most definitely be missed. His commentary during games was always one of my favorite things about following the Steelers.

RIP Myron.

As a Brown's fan, my heart, prayers and sympathies goes out to the Cope family and the Steeler family. He was an important part of the Steeler family and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Re: Myron Cope Passes Away

I remember watchin' Myron Cope do his commentaries on Channel 4 back in the day when I was a kid. He will be missed by The Steeler Nation, and by this die-hard Steeler fan.
He was a big part of what being a Steeler fan is all about....the color commentary," Yoi!!! Double Yoi!!" and of course The Terrible Towel.

Here's to you Myron!! Rest in Peace.

Re: Myron Cope Passes Away

Sad day indeed here in Pittsburgh. I have seen alot of people paying respect by showing off their Terrible Towels. He was the orignal creator of the Terrible towel. He had given the rights to the towel to the Allegheny Valley School which helps children with autism. They said he has donated around 2.2 millon to the school alone.
