Dicek sucks. I'd take Wang and his 19 wins, Petite, Moose, Hughes, and Kennedy over the sox rotation any day of the week. On the plus side, you have a knuckleballer older than my dad lol.

Tip of the hat to the Yanks 3-2 comeback over my Jays. Nice opening series. Enjoyed a Torano 59 toro during. Bosox next. Watch out.

Helluva good game that was. And the Royals spanking the tigers again, Greinke pitched great. And, Mike Hampton is back on the dl. Big surprise there lol. And that Reds rookie pitcher had a great game. Good night of baseball

Re: Baseball Chat Thread

It was a great day of baseball...I got a little worried in the ninth after the Toronto Blue Jays put the tying run in scoring position...but trusty Mariano Rivera saved yet another dangerous spot he put himself into...

GO YANKEES!!!

The Blue Jays are playing a real strong game, the AL East is going to be a great group of competition this year!

The Royals are looking incredibly hot...as of now, but like Pistol said...the back half of the rotation is a little suspect...

That's very true. I think every team in the AL east has improved save the orioles, who remain terrible. I still don't think it's going to be quite as tough of a division as the AL central, but I can see the blue jays and Rays being spoilers for sure.

Wins is the most over rated stat in Baseball and the save is pretty close.

Tell me who's the better pitcher with these 2007 stats?

Pitcher 1: 200 IP, 163 K, 3.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP
Pitcher 2: 199.1 IP, 104 K, 3.70 ERA, 1.29 WHIP

Pretty close but Pitcher 1 has the edge especially with the Strikeouts.

Pitcher 1 is Matt Cain with a 7-16 losing record
Pitcher 2 is your beloved CM Wang with a 19-7 record.

IMO Wins is more of a team category and should have no guage on how good a pitcher is... I remember the year Bartolo Colon won the Cy Young because he had more Wins than Johan, when Johan had him clearly beat in all the other statistical categories. Now i'm not knockin your boy... but if you put him on my sorry @$$ team he might get 19 losses.

Yes indeed Matt Cain rocks! Tremendous maturity for a guy his age. When the bullpen was blowing his Wins last season, Matt would just sit on the bench with that blank look on his face. No signs of agression, he wouldn't even put is face in a towel. Straight calm and composed while I was throwing all sorts of crap across the room.

What do you guys think of old Barry Bonds now that he's gone? It seems that the Giants as an organization have completely washed their hands of him.
