Baseball Chat Thread

Since there are quite a few fans on CS, I thought it'd be cool to have a baseball thread where we can talk about our teams and what's going on in MLB. Ready... GO!

Re: Baseball Chat Thread

I'll get this started. Yankee fans, are you guys happy with your starting pitching beyond Wang? Mussina looked OK last night. The Yanks really need Mussina and Petitte to hold up and pitch well this year. I don't know much about Hughes...

I like the Braves and would like to see them do well, but they had better watch their own staffs' hammies! They are getting a little long in the tooth! Is Tex going to have a big year this year or what?

Re: Baseball Chat Thread

Greinke is looking sharp right now, I'm convinced that the top 3 pitchers on our staff are going to light it up this year. Now beyond that, who knows, but 3 legit starters is a HUGE improvement for us.

No its not. The yanks are stacked with excellent young pitching, the sox ain't.

How bout those Nats!

And the royals up on the tigers again?

When are the Yanks going to get some more of those young pitchers into the starting rotation? The Royals are better than you think man, Meche pitched well on opening day, Bannister was lights out, and Greinke is riding a three hit shutout right now... We aren't doing this against a cupcake lineup either. The Tigers have one of the best, if not THE best lineups in the game. We have legit pitching man, aside from Meche's win-loss (he was dead LAST in run support in the AL last year), he was one of the best pitchers in the AL last year (was top 5 in most categories, K's, IP, BB's allowed, QS's), Bannister was third in ROY voting, and Greinke finished with a 3.69 ERA last year. Now that Gordon and Butler are hitting well, we have a decent lineup except for the 8,9 batters. Uh oh, Greinke is getting himself into trouble right now in the 5th, come on buddy! *edit- WOOO got out of it!

Being a yankee fan i'll chime in, Andy IMHO is a waste, Wang will do great for us this year, but most importantly cant wait to see the new kid tonight!
