I started to pull out the fiver a couple of days ago, but then the Caps decided to make a series of it. Will see after the game tonight.

Re: NHL Playoff Pool

It will be interesting to see how Stevens juggles the lines since Knuble is not playing. Hartnell would be a good fit with Carter and Upshall, but I'd hate to see his grit leave the Briere line. I'm guessing they'll put Umburger with Carter and leave Hartnell with Briere. The Carter line will lose some grit without Knuble, but hopefully they can pull through.

It's been an entertaining series...we'll see how it goes.

PS - Has Brashear been playing well all season? He's impressed me with his game this series and is proving to be more than just a thug.

Don is more than a thug, but I agree with you, his play has certainly improved during the playoffs. Semin and Backstrom have really impressed me all season and are among the few Caps playing like they are in the post-season.

I missed Knuble getting injured. What happened? Guy has been a menace to the Caps faltering Defense.

I think Brashear has played a couple of the best games he has played all season in the playoffs.

Knuble sustained a partial tear of his left hamstring in Saturday's Game and is out for the rest of the series.

Knuble tumbled to the ice in a moment of indecision over whether to try to block a shot late in the second period.

Now I remember - that was on the crappy ice at the Verizon Center? Similar situation Saturday during one of my son's games. Ice was so soft that puck would just stop instead of coasting end to end.

Hope it isn't too bad.

Sounds like he could be back if the Flyers advance...I know you aren't rooting for that.

True - but I hate to see players get hurt, especially when it is due to poor rink conditions.

I am with you 100%.....or 110% if you subscribe to Barry Melrose's logic.

Re: NHL Playoff Pool

Thanks for the update Tom.

Should be some great hockey on tap this evening. By the end of the night a couple more will fall by the wayside.

Defending Stanley Cup champs haven't had much success the past few years.

Caps and Flyers has been a hugely entertaining series. I kind of hate to see it end. Huet makes me cringe with every shot. I get the feeling that every shot has a chance go in.

Some Canadiens fans are an embarassment.
