Re: NHL Playoff Pool

Since both the Caps and Flames are in game 7s tonight, my post-season fun may be coming to an end....Go Caps.

Predictions: Ovechkin and Richards fight it out tonight.
Briere scores early due to a Caps defense breakdown
Cooke does something to stir up trouble with the Flyers
Semin will provide the majority of the Caps offense

I know, blinding flashes of the obvious, but I have nothing to do between now and game time.

Overtime it is. 2-2 Flyers/Caps. Should be a great finish. Love game 7 overtimes, unless it's the Red Wings and then it's way to gut wrenching for me.

Wow, what a crazy game. The Caps outplayed the Flyers the whole third period, but couldn't put it away. Ovechkin is a beast!

LET'S GO FLYERS!

Re: NHL Playoff Pool

Did anybody else notice that the Refs just couldn't stay out of the way(in the Caps , Flyers game 7), constantly getting hit with pucks and players . Occasionally it happens but man o man they were constantly in the wrong place at the right time . Go FLYERS !

glad to see zubov may be back for the stars. Dallas beating anaheim without zubov and Boucher for 3 games I think says alot about how strong dallas is. But zubov back would be a difference maker to win the cup.

if I'm not mistaken 2nd round in the east looks like

Mtl-Philly
Pitt-Rangers

Should be two very good series right there

Re: NHL Playoff Pool

I know everyone will disagree but I still say there is a canadian bias in the playoffs when its a US based team vs Canadian team. That sharks flames series was rough to watch no call on slashes etc, phantom calls. So glad the better team won. That high stick call in the 3rd was a joke. His own teamate high sticked him. Thenon call on the open ice interference. If the sharks had done the same it would have been an instant call yet no call on the flames.

Yes, and ...

Detroit / Colorado
Dallas / San Jose

In the West...let the semis begin!!

P.S....Jeremy Roenick was awesome tonight, reminded me of old times....2 goals and 2 assists in a Game 7....and humble in the interview (that part wasn't like old times... )

Re: NHL Playoff Pool

What a great 1st round! 3 series went to 7 games. One 7th game ended with a riot and one 7th game went to overtime. What more can you ask for?

Pens/Rangers should be a good seesaw battle.

Montreal/Flyers is a question mark. Canadiens won all 4 regular season games so it will be interesting to see if that is indicative of how these 2 teams match up or are the playoffs really a whole new season?

Detroit/Colorado is intriguing. Forshberg/Sakic still have a certain air of hockey magic about them. Detroit is a great team that seems to get little respect from the hockey public. Best regular season team, lots of recent success, including a few cups and still folks question whether they have what it takes. Hockey folks question whether they can win with Osgoode, but last time I checked didn't he have the best GAA this year and doesn't he have a cup under his belt as a starter?

Sharks/Stars series features 2 good teams. I am a little curious how Joe Thorton ended up being relegated to the 2nd line. Has he not been a top 10 in the league guy for some time? If he's on the 2nd line then the 1st line must be out of this world!

Thanks for the update Tom.

Yeah the last time I checked the Red Wings have been one of the best teams in hockey for a dozen years or more. That's alright thought, just makes it that much sweeter when we win.
