Colts fan to McNairs rescue.

Wow, nobody from Tennessee or Maryland can give the man a little CS love?!

I am more than happy to be the first to give him a little love. A great guy and a great career. Too bad his final season was the way it was.

He did prove a lot of people wrong. He was not suppose to amount to anything. Nice to see a guy like that to bad he did not end his career on a winning team.

He had a pretty good career, would have been a Hall of Famer if he had one the Super Bowl w/ Tennessee! But what do I know, I'm an admitted Lions fan!

Re: Colts fan to McNairs rescue.

A great player who defined the word "tough" for his generation of players. I can't imagine trying to chuck a football downfield with a broken sternum, much less getting drilled into the ground during the act. He almost single-handedly pushed his team in that Superbowl, and refused to give up. A very talented and motivated player. Not many of the top QB's in the league could have done as well as he, if put in his situation with the Titans.

He likely would have had a better career if the Titans mgt had made better personnel choices. Steve never had a truly good WR to work with, and though Wycheck was a great TE, the Titans seem to always want to make a passing game out of TE's, with WR's coming as an afterthought. Not a great idea, IMO. The offensive line???? After Matthews retired, it seemed to get worse with each passing season, and McNair spent more and more time scrambling for his life and getting hurt. Their inability to come up with a decent O-line was a big contributor to his situation-and that's saying a lot, considering his ability to move and evade defenders.

I hope he enjoys his retirement. I'm going to miss watching him, and I wish the Titans had not let him go.
