The Yankees are giving 100%of the "cursed" jersey sale to the Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund...
Take in mind, a lot of the Yankees have their own charity, but because of this situation...the Jimmy Fund deserves all the support the Yankees can give it!
I hope this breaks down some of the negative banter between the two rivals....

This was a nice move by the evil empire. What many people do not know is that when our local sports radio station holds its annual radiothon for Boston Children's Hospital/the Jimmy Fund, George was always one of the first donors and was most generous in his donations. It would be great if this jersey raised mega dollars.Thanks to the Yankees.

Actually, The Marlins are at fault for that. They are the second most evil organization in MLB. They are the Scrooge of the MLB.

I was in Miami when they beat the Indians for their first WS. The next day they were already talking of dumping players rather than pay salary. Within days they started the fire sale of players turning a champion into crap team. They did the same thing after their second WS. Whenever they have a good player, they dump them before the rookie contract runs out.

They are in a big market with a great potential fan base. Rather than try to build the fan base with a winning team and a half decent payroll. They use a revolving door of disposable young talent. They finally were able to bitch and moan enough to be able to con Dade County into building a new stadium. So maybe that will change.

nah, Rich De Voss (Amway owner and billionaire) talked Orlando into building a new stadium for the Magic but as long as his son in law is trading away guys like Ben Wallace and giving up Chris Webber for Penny Hardaway and losing Shaq with nothing in return, the Magic will never get out of the first round of the playoffs, like the Marlins will probably not see post season play in my lifetime.

You are right about a tremendous potential fanbase in Dade county though.

Big Cuban/Hispanic community. It will help draw some free agents. And the stadium is in the heart of it. The new stadium where the Orange Bowl was could work wonders for them. Dolphin's Stadium is off the interstate on the way towards Ft. Lauderdale. I think Baseball is more of an city sport. People will go out for dinner before. It will do wonders for the neighborhood.

Now it will have to be seen if the owners loosen up the purse strings. They might have to.

By the way, it looks like digging up the shirt has helped Paii out of his slump. Two more hits today!!!

They won two WS - not a lot of teams can say that - I would say that the management has figured something out! But - I understand what being a fan is all about - Maybe the new stadium will improve revenues and then they can have the highest salary in baseball and watch the WS on their giant plasma TVs too - like my Yankees do lately!!
