Racing Returns to the Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For any of you racing fans out there, just letting you know that Rockingham had its first big event, the Carolina 500, since 2003. It's a shame that that track has sat dormant since NASCAR pulled out of that historic track. Many thanks and RG points to Andy Hillenburg for purchasing this track and bringing "The Rock" back to racing fans.

It's on the Backside of Ft Bragg - GREAT memories of going to so many different races!!!

Glad to see the Rock is BACK IN ACTION!!!!

That is exactly what NASCAR needs to worry about. I can understand them pulling one race out of a traditional track, but two? They want to grow, but they have to be careful not to alienate their core fan while they do it.

I may be wrong, but I believe that they will probably be pulling completely out of Darlington in the next few years. I bought my ticket to this weekends Darlington event just in case. I'd feel awful if I heard they were shutting down and I didn't make it there for one more race. This is why I am no longer a NASCAR fan. I bought my ticket, not to support NASCAR, but to support the Darlington Raceway and its rich history.

I doubt Darlington is going anywhere. I think the France family has an ownership interest there and they did just do the $10 million in improvements. Maybe we will even see racing at Rockingham again. Some of those races out west are not selling like they want them too. So California could lose a race.
