The Pens mopped up the East, but that's like saying the Lions looked good in training camp. Of course they did, look at the competition.


If the Pens don't score first in game three, it's a sweep. If the Pens score first maybe it goes 5 or 6, but either way the Wings bring the cup back to Detroit.

I was one, but its because they've been my favorite team ever since I've been about 5. And well since about then they've sucked terribly. So I voted for it and hoped that they could pull off a miracle.

I'd much rather have preferred them to be playing the Stars instead. But if they can win the next two at Mellon, then I can still have some hope...

Exactly!!! There's alot of confident posts lately, and rightfully so but all is not lost. The Wings won the first 2 against nashville and lost the next 2....won the first 3 against Dallas and lost the next 2. Pens get a little home ice lovin and some home ice officiating and we're all square. Maybe Osgood will find a real reason to "flop," and some of the Kromwell charges will be called. It aint over till it's over!!!!

Watching the last game, it looks like the Pens were starting to hear the alarm clock and were waking up. I'm thinking with a night or two at home and some frustration maybe converting from checking Ozzy to putting things on net, they'll take game 3.

Of course, that will only last for one game and then D will come on back for the 4th. I'm still saying 6 games. (I have to, my gf is from Detroit)

First, it's Kronwall, and it's only charging if he takes three strides, or leaves his feet. Second, if the Pens weren't getting some lame "goaltender interference" penalties and disallowed goals against the Wings, those first two games would have been even more lopsided. Holmstrom takes a beating, cross-checks, punches in the head, high-sticks, and slashes, and then just because his shadow crossed into the crease he gets a penalty and a goal is disallowed? Both sides have gotten good and bad calls. There's no need to blame the Pens plight on the zebras.

And for the Pittsburg faithful, there's not a ton of reason for hope. Did you hear Sidney Cosby's (intentional misspelling) post game interview? He said he didn't think the Wings got any more scoring chances, or were dominating play. Some stats for you: 70-41 shots on goal advantage & 7-0 goals advantage (should have been 9-0 if not for two disallowed goals). Not to mention, there isn't a fool on this planet who watched those two games who didn't see the domination. The Wings had the puck for at least 40 minutes per game. I wish the box score had time of possession and turnovers/giveaways. I'm sure those numbers would be as staggering as the shot differential.
