Re: Euro 08 Pool

as for the first ruling request on the scoring of assists, I would suggest that assists should be worth .5 unless aldukes says "similarly=exactly". My choices are different depending....

I'm submitting my choices based on the 1 for a goal and .5 for an assist premise.

Pavel Pogrebnyak doing his knee yesterday has *completely* screwed me over on my picks, I had him in my 3 without a doubt and I ain't sure Russia's going to be the same team without him.

Throwin a dart at it and emailin it

yayson, is that you at the other end of that gmail address? I just sent a revised five-team entry, and I think I'll stick with that if that's cool.
Sorry, my man. I don't mean to be such a pain in the @ss.

It's not me no but if you read the rules in the document it's clear. The "5" I quoted earlier was from aldukes' post, his post referenced the rules in the document which are clear:

"At the end of this step you will have a total of 5 teams selected."

The STEP mentioned is 2. The winner step is step 4, leaving you open for the 6th.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't realize me quoting him was confusing but in retrospect it is. very!

Edited my prev post but just missed you

Re: Euro 08 Pool

and actually, I've solved my first puzzle regarding the goals/assists points.

While the rules are not clear, if you take them in conjunction with the heading on that section of the entry form it becomes crystal clear, the column head reads: "Goals & Assists Weight". There I have it, goals and assists are the same weight, differentiated only by ranking.

Sorry if I muddied any waters by asking that one.

I take the blame for the form's vagueries and aldukes should have it for it's completeness! Game on and apologies for any confusion I helped create, hopefully I helped clear some up to even things out?

is it stogie time yet?

No worries, brother! I think we got it hammered out in the end. At least, I think we did.

Werd!

What I wanna know is, now that we're past deadline -- at least over here on the east coast, how many entries have we got? Or, are we gonna give it 'til 11:59 PDT?

man, this is going to be good. I'll probably be limited to only watching the morning/afternoon game and have to miss the late afternoon/evening game (can't stop all my work to watch )

it's a bit hectic innit

Graycliff vintage 1999 down the hatch, thanks to papajohn! On to a DPG black. Hacking away at someone else's code and database on a latop with a stogie in a stiff breeze is a bit hectic as well

Re: Euro 08 Pool

Sorry for not being around last night to clear things up. Much thanks to yayson for holding down the fort.

I will post everyone's picks in this thread later on in the afternoon.

As for now I need to set my tivo for the first game and try to squeeze 18 in before it gets to hot.

I am suprised that everybody likes germany. They played poorly in their preperation matches but they have an easy group.
