How are they going to put Ball State in there when Central Michigan won the league last year and has damn near the entire team coming back?

40th for Nebraska is fair considering what they did last year, I think they will be much better....but preseason 40th is fair.

Going to be some real pissed off Boston College fans plus Notre Dame in the top 50? Give the guy who made the list a drink.

How about those Deacons at #24? Could be a great year for WFU -- get FSU early (during suspensions) and Clemson at home on Thursday night.

, but I can live with Gawga being a good team this year...I've always liked them and I think Richt is a class act. Bama played them really tough last season and I hope with the improved talent and depth, we might pull off the victory this year!!!

Bama needs to whip Clemson in week 1. That will do the nation a great service. We are all counting on yo.

I think that Clemson game will be a defining moment on how the rest of the season will be. It's gonna be a tough game, they're returning almost the entire team. I have faith that Bama will pull out the win, but it will be really close. Saban is brining in the talent he needs to run the team the way he wants and the freshman that will be playing in that game will need to play the games of their lives for Bama to have a chance.

Just three words left.....Roll Tide, Roll!!!

Re: SportingNews.com's Top 50 CFB Teams

How is Bama's D? I have no doubt they will be able to score on Clemson, but stopping them might be a different matter. Davis and Spiller are solid in the backfield. Harper is a pretty good QB, but I would stop the run and make him beat me if I were the opposing coach.

They'll have issues on D this year. MLB is a true sophomore, though he started all last year. Will probably start another true freshman at LB again this year. DL will be ok, but the backfield might have some issues...might see a few freshman starting.
