Could be that name is already trademarked by a team in another pro sport. Namely the Minnesota Thunder soccer team in the twin cities.

I'm sure it will be the Thunder.

Even my beloved USBL team the Oklahoma Storm was weather related, R.I.P.

Meh, it wasn't OKC, the new owners, the city of Seattle, or the state of Washington that screwed us it was Howard Schultz. After destroying the Sonics he then sold out to an OKC ownership group that had long been lobbying for a team so it was pretty obvious to all but the most obtuse that they would be leaving. I would protest his assishness by boycotting Starbucks but I already avoid that swill like the plague.

The public didn't vote on anything. Bennet broke the good faith clause of the contract. And they had 78% attendance in their final year. IF it was just business than they would not have taken a team out of th 15th largest market for the 44th. Exactly the reason that Mark Cuban voted against it.
