Alas, the Fins are thinking about the future so they had to make this move I guess.

I'm with Parcells...whatever he does is good enough for me.
We were desperate, I cant believe you all didnt ask for more knowing our track record of throwing picks at teams. You probably could have gotten something a little better. But I hope this works out for both teams. My dad lives in Miami and has picked them up as his new team since he lives there, and he seems to be happy with what Parcells is doing. I just hope this isnt another year where the Skins play mediocre football and we stay in the same position we seem to be stuck in. I just hope Dallas doesnt do it this year, God I hate that team.

Patrick, in all fairness the list contains more than it's fair share of busts, and outside the handful of highlighted names I couldn't tell you who most of those guys are and I'm a rabid football fan. Where's the 2007 list?

The deal was a no-brainer for the Redskins in my opinion.
The draft is a crap shoot for the teams that make it one. I could post the Colts drafts since 1999, and you'll see a marked diffrerence between what they've done with the draft and what the Redskins have done.

In fact, the Colts and Redskins are polar opposites, the Colts have eschewed free agency and trades and have built through the draft. So well in fact that every year they are raided by other teams in the league during free agency, and I believe more than one Colt player now wears a Redskins jersey.

Re: Jason Taylor to Redskins

2007 Draft
1st Round: Laron Landry Safety, will take over for Taylor.
5th Round: Dalas Sartz LB: No clue who this guy is.
6th Round: HB Blades LB, Position filler
6th Round: Jordan Palmer QB, No longer on the team but still Carsons younger brother.
7th Round: Tyler Ecker TE, Never heard of him

As you can see not much could be done because of our available picks. I think we lost some of those picks via trades. Nonetheless, we could have filled some key positions if we had the 2nd, 3rd, 4th round pick.

Im a bit of a Colts fan now that you have UK's TE Jacob Tamme, you will love that guy.

Me too. Word is he's cut out of the same mold as Dallas Clark of the Colts, a wide receiver in a tight ends body. Too athletic and fast for linebackers, too big and strong for db's to cover. We shall see.

The guy can straight up play. You will have him for years to come and more importantly, he is a great person. He will be great teammate and member of the Indy community.

Re: Jason Taylor to Redskins

I don't want to hear skin's fans bitching about the draft. The dolphins have started exactly one player from the draft going back to 2003, and that would be Ted Ginn-WR who is mediocre at best. Hell, I think since 2003 there are only 5 or 6 draft picks that are even with the team.

This is all pre-Parcells of course. That dude has a knack for finding talent, and also for kicking busted picks to the side if they don't work out.

Happy football season Vic. Hope that Peyton is back sooner rather than later but I really don't think that this is the year for either of the goober brothers. This is the Cheatriots year after that Stupor Bowl crap last year.

Perhaps Paul
But I don't think so. Cheatriots came out with a new offense last year and it took a while for teams to adapt. By the end of the season they were not nearly as effective, and I think you are in for a big surprise.

I don't know. I hear Dallas wants to trade Jessica Simpson to the Patriots for a bag of peanuts and a flat beer.

Re: Jason Taylor to Redskins

As a lifelong Dolphins' fan - I bleed aqua and orange - I'm glad to see Taylor go somewhere else, and glad that we got a 2nd-rounder for him. The 6th is gravy.

I can tell you that as talented as Taylor is, he is a self-absorbed individual who never could seem to use his status as one of the premier Defensive players of his time to become a leader on his own team.

The Phins' D has lacked a vocal, effective LEADER for over 10 years, and Taylor was in a perfect position to do so but didn't.

So this makes me glad for him and for my team.
