I live vicariously thru others hahahahahahahaha

Just live vicariously through the good ones. Note that I didn't mention the 2001 NFC championship game in St. Louis.

I was on field security for every Cincinnati game in the 1990 Playoffs and World Serious. AMAZING!

1995 Michigan-OSU. My first game at The Big House, where Tim Biakabutuka rushes 313 yds in the upset over OSU and ruing their National Championship hopes.

1973 NBA All-Star Game, courtside seats to watch these legends play:
Dave Cowens, Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Lenny Wilkens, John Havlicek, Pete Maravich, Jo Jo White, Elvin Hayes, Bill Bradley, Wes Unseld, Nate Archibald, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Dave Bing, Chet Walker, Gail Goodrich, Nate Thurmond, Bob Lanier, Bob Love, Bob Dandridge, Connie Hawkins and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

1991 NHL All-Star Game, which included Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Steve Yzerman, Paul Coffey, Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Ray Bourque, Guy Lafleur, Brian Leetch, Pat LaFontaine, Denis Savard, Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick and Steve Larmer.

1992 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 4...I got to see the Stanley Cup skated on the Chicago Stadium ice....just too bad it was the Pens hoisting the grail.

Saw Annika play at Colonial in 2003.

Also, nothing special right now, but watched Jordan play a few times, which, I believe, I'll be able to tell my grandkids about just like my grandfather told me about watching Babe Ruth play.
You just reminded me. I was at the 1/15/1990 Bulls vs. Knicks game in Madison Square Garden which because of that game the NBA implemented "The Trent Tucker Rule"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trent_Tucker_Rule

This was painful to watch considering the game was lost by the Bulls on a call that made the NBA implement a new rule! I was so upset being a huge Bulls / Jordan fan at the time.

2008 All-Star Home Run Derby - Sitting in the right field bleachers watching all of Josh Hamilton's HRs flying over my head.

Game 6 2006 NLCS - Aside from giving the false sense of hope that the Mets might win the series, it was the most exciting sporting event I've ever been to.

Broncos at Giants (December 13, 199 - Watched a horrible Giants team, lead by Kent Graham, ruin John Elway's perfect season bid in week 15.

Re: What was the greatest sporting event you ever attended?

1989 NCAA Mens Hockey Championship Havard 4 v Minnesota 3 (OT) St. Paul Civic Center Amazing game but broke my heart as a lifelong Gopher Hockey fan.

1999 Six Nations Rugby France 33–34 Wales at Stade de France in Paris
France was the 2x defending 2x grand slam champion and heavily favored. Amazing game.

2003 NCAA Football regular season Ohio St 10 Wisconsin 17 at Camp Randall in Madison Wi.
Reigning national champions come in undefeated and heavily favored. Raining like crazy. Had seats in about the tenth row on the goal line. Charged the field afterwards with the mob. Amazing day.

2004 NFL Packers 34 v. Vikings 31 Lambeau Field. Great experience great day.

Sad to say all three times I was backing a team the team I was rooting for lost and the one time I didn't really have a horse in the race the home team won. Still all were great events and I was privileged to be there.

Any minor league baseball game or college hockey game is a great sporting event IMHO. Other than the couple amazing/historical events I have been fortunate enough to attend many big budget sporting events are kinda boring. These two sports almost always are fun and entertaining regardless of the quality of the play and when the play is good it is even better.

Re: What was the greatest sporting event you ever attended?

What a great question Patrick!

Game 7 World Series 1997
Florida Marlins vs. Clevland Indians

Miami Hurricanes vs. UCLA Bruins December 5 1998
Miami wins 49-45
Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida St. in 2000,2002,2004 All Miami wins
Miami Hurricanes vs. Washington Huskies 2001 Miami 65 Washington 7
Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida Gators 2003 Miami comes back from being down 35-7 in the 4th Quarter
Miami vs. Virginia 2007 Miami losses 48-0 in the very last game in the historical Orange Bowl. Was lucky enough to walk out of the stadium with a seat.

Saw Michael Jordan and the Bulls play the Miami Heat several times. Amazing experience watching Jordan play.

Been to many Miami Dolphins games, but nothing worth mentioning.

I haven't been to many sporting events that's worthwhile mentioning but the greatest concert I've attended was Led Zeppelin at the Budokan in Tokyo back in 1972.

Re: What was the greatest sporting event you ever attended?

1998 Rose Bowl

When Michigan's 1997 season started out with big wins over Colorado and Notre Dame most of us were pleasantly surprised. As the season kept rolling we began thinking maybe, just maybe, there was something special about this team. Made it through undefeated without ever giving up more than 24 points (in a nail-biter against Iowa) then headed out to Pasadena to face WSU.

Michigan won a very close game and grabbed a share of the national championship. The Rose Bowl itself was a blast but it was really the culmination of an amazing season. Plus it was the last of the traditional Rose Bowls before they threw in with the BCS.

June 28 2007 at Minute Maid park in Houston. Saw Craig Biggio get his 3000th hit, he actually got 5 that night. It was my first time at the park and was a very exciting game.
