What was the greatest sporting event you ever attended?

Most memorable game for me was watching my Brother play in the Illinois Sectionals tournament for soccer. They lost, but he played an awsome game and it was his last HS game. He'll be starting on defense for U of I this year, so I'm thrilled that I still get to watch him play.

I completely forgot about Watching the US draw with Italy in 06. In our little part of the stadium. Knowing that our smallish contingent had DROWNED OUT the speakers with the Star Spangled Banner. Standing there cyring like a baby, at attention, at the top of my lungs 'the home of the brave'. that was the most incredible feeling on earth.

18 inning game at yankee stadium, Tigers vs. Yanks Claudell Washington hit a HR in the bottom of the 18th to win it!

And Being at the giants game in Buffalo Dec 23 and seeing Ahmad Bradshaw break that 8o yd. run to seal it. Made me forget that i was frozen to the bone and facing a 4 hour ride home....The whiskey can only keep you warm for so long

The Texans first ever victory over the Colts.

Win made even sweeter when the Colts went on to win the Superbowl.

Second to that would have to be a preseason game between the Lakers and Kings at the Thomas and Mack in Las Vegas. I think I was the only Kings fan in the house. It was a sea of yellow and purple. I was annoyingly loud. The Kings won.

2007 Music City Bowl, University of Kentucky beats Clemson Tigers 28-20.
It was the first UK game I had been to since graduating in 2000. It was an amazing time. We were the second people in the parking lot and the second to last to leave.

Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings, NFC Championship Game. Skins win 17-10. I went with my stepdad, and we sat in the endzone and it was during the year they went on to beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Washington Redskins vs. Oakland Raiders, 1983. My parents just got divorced and my dad moved to DC. He got tickets and we walked to the game from his apartment. The Skins were down by over two tds, I went ballistic and starting screaming at the team to get back into it. My dad still tells me that the entire section was egging me on and laughing. The Skins came back to win by 2 points and the whole way home I felt that it was me who brought the team back.

1984 First WVU game live on ESPN, first game under the lights, FINALLY defeat Penn St - 10 years old, attended with Dad (WVU Alumni).

1993 November 23, single game attendance record WVU victory over Miami U - Undefeated season - 17-14 - freezing cold (as a WVU student)

A close third would be a Pirates game last summer with my dad - nothing special at all about it - late may afternoon game, nice and sunny, cold beer with the old man... and I don't even like baseball. I guess I get to say I saw Jason Bay live.

Superbowl XXXIV, January 30, 2000

(the balls on this guy... that day happened to also be my wife's 28th birthday)

It was one of the best, and worst, days of my life. I was at the Superbowl to watch my Tennessee Titans participate in the only Big Game in Franchise history.

And, for those of you who have ever seen football highlights from Superbowls, you've seen a Tennessee Titan wide receiver named Kevin Dyson stretch out his arm and have the ball hit the turf 1 yard short of the endzone as time expired (to give credit where credit is due, Mike Jones was the Rams linebacker who solo-tackled him, preventing the game from going into overtime)

My seats were at the opposite end of the field and I, like many people in the stadium, assumed that Dyson made it in... it wasn't until the Blue and Yellow confetti came tumbling down from the ceiling that I knew what had happened.

I hauled a$$ to the nearest Marta station, as I didn't want to watch Dick Vermeil cry with the Lombardi in his hand.

Honorable mention - I got to work the field in 2001 during a Tennessee - Baltimore Divisional playoff game. I was hauling battery packs for NFL Films (that's what friends are for ). My job was to follow the main camera around throughout the game and make sure that when he reached back, I put a fresh battery in his hand.

The Titans lost that game, too, and the Ravens went on to earn rings that year.
