UFC 83 that was held here in Montreal. I remember the Montreal Canadiens were in the playoffs and playing the same night, so everyone was going back and forth from the food stands (where they were playing hockey on a small TV) to their seats. They ended up losing lol, but atleast GSP came through and finished Matt Serra in the 2nd round. Great night!

I don't know if these qualify as "greatest" but these were the most memorable:
I drove up from UCLA for one day to watch Barry Bonds break the home run record. Watched it with my dad. Even with everything that's happened since then it's still a great memory. Interesting fact about that game: it was actually a makeup game canceled due to Sept. 11th. I had bought tickets to a random game months before, and ended up seeing history made. I was also at the 1989 World Series game at Candlestick park when the earthquake happened. I was 8 at the time and I was the only member of my family to feel the quake. Completely surreal experience. All the players ran out on the field to get out from underneath the stadium. The scoreboard and PA system went out and nobody had any idea what was going on.

I guess the biggest was Super Bowl XXVII (1994) Cowboys vs. Bills. It was a great experience.
But I had the most fun when I flew to Washington DC to see the Redskins and Falcons play against each other in the divisional playoffs. Outdoor stadiums are so much more intense than domes. Honorable mentions go to all the Olympic events I attended in 1996 while the games were here in Atlanta.

1984 Talladega 500, held on July 29th. The race had 68 official lead changes, if you counted the ones that happened other than the start finish line you could easily double that number.
The race was won by Dale Sr. 6 of the top 10 finishers were decided by photo finish. Buddy Bake was 2nd. Great race! Mark

My son winning district in wrestling as a sophomore. Came from behind in the 3rd period to win on points in the last 18 seconds.

Greatest pro sporting event? 1999 Ryder Cup at the Country Club in Brookline,MA. Greatest sporting event? Anything my son is playing.
