What was the greatest sporting event you ever attended?
I got this from another board and wanted to see if you witnessed any great sports performances.

For me it was....

1. Dwight Gooden's no-hitter Yankees vs. Seattle 5/14/1996

and

2. The Redskins vs. Cowboys Monday Night Football in Dallas on my birthday 9/19/2005 when the Skins came back from being down 13-0 in the last 4 minutes with 2 bombs to Santana Moss to win 14-13!

San Fran 49ers vs Cleveland Browns, Monday Night Football. Back in the late 90s (the original Browns). The 49ers were still a good team back then but Cleveland put a hurting on them that night

1997 Masters, Tigers first win at Augusta
1997 US Open, Ernie Els at Congrssional
1997 British Open, Justin Leonard at Royal Birkdale
1997 PGA Championship, Davis Love win on Fathers Day

May not seem like much.
But my wife took me to see San Diego Chargers vs. Detroit Lions in San Diego. It was Veteran's Day/My Birthday. I got to see Barry Sanders play and Bob Hope was there as well as Paratroopers landing on the 50 yard line. I will always remember it.

2006 Auburn-LSU game. Auburn won the game 7-3. It was an incredible show of defense and power. At the time it had NC connotations, but both teams were so beat up they couldn't do well the next few weeks.

I don't remember the specifics any more, but my father took me to a Yankee-Red Sox double header at Yankee Stadium around 1950 or so, and each game was won by a late inning home run. In one game the homerun was by Ted Williams and the other by Joltin' Joe.

Nothing earth-shattering for me.

I was at the game in 1993 when Shaq brought down the backboard in Phoenix.

Watched LaDainian Tomlinson break the Division 1-A rushing record by going for 406 yards and 6 tds in 1991.

Saw Annika play at Colonial in 2003.

Also, nothing special right now, but watched Jordan play a few times, which, I believe, I'll be able to tell my grandkids about just like my grandfather told me about watching Babe Ruth play.

I went to the Canadian Classic Outdoor Hockey game...Habs vs. Oilers with my dad(Habs fan, I am an Oilers fan). Unreal, -26...great trip!


Anther good one with my best friend....Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh in South Bend, then drove to Cleveland for the Browns game on the Sunday, then went to the last Monday Night Game at the Silverdome!
