Our Minor Sports Experience

I know there are lots here that have played sports or still play. What is your experience, history? How far did you go with it?

I'll start. Played hockey from 5 years old to 15 years old. House league only. During the next 25 years played the odd game of pick up. Then started playing a regularly. Have played once a week every winter for the past 7 years.
If this counts have run numerous 5k's, 10 k's, etc as well as a few sprint distance triathlons. This only in my late 30's and beginning 40's.

What about you?

Re: Our Minor Sports Experience

Not as glamorous or rough and tumble as hockey but I played on the ice too.

I am a curler, played at highschool level growing up in SW Ontario. Did the WOSSA circuit. played house league in college and then sort of forgot about it as I started the career / family thing. Picked it back up 16 years or so ago as weekly house league. That has morphed into twice weekly men's league and mixed league; became involved in the juniors program and now sit on a club's Board of Directors as the person in charge of the club's Junior program (7 year olds to 20 year olds). Played on one OCA ( Ontario Curling Association) event but never have the skills that the pros have.

Did a year or so of bicycle racing in college although I've been riding since I was 14 or so. Played house league ice and roller hockey during my thirty something years. Now I'm playing with sprint triathlons and considering going back to bicycle racing.

I was a competitive powerlifter back in the 80's, and have been playing competitive men's league hockey for the last couple decades.
