At the very least, he should not return to the Packers.

Tacky yes, but to say someone shouldnt be allowed back because they had a change of heart is another thing entirely. Junior Seau retired from the Chargers, they gave him a nice going away party, but he came back because he wants to win. If someone can still play and make a difference then its in his right to go back to work. Michael Jordan retired (or forced out depending on the story), came back and won three more championships. Then retired again and came back to the Wizards. Tacky, but its in his right.

Yes, this isnt like any other job, but its still America and you cant keep someone from working when there are people out there wanting to hire him. How many times do coaches quit and then come back? Should the NFL not have allowed Joe Gibbs to come back after his long hiatus? Plus, Joe Gibbs was already in the HOF, should they take him out of the hall and go through the whole process again in another five years? I cant wait till this over and the entire NFL can move forward. Its bad for the Packers and bad for Favre's legacy.

Legally, sure. But ethically, no way.

As I said "At the very least, he should not return to the Packers."

Re: What Should Happen With Brett Favre?

I like Brett, but lets face it, you say your out then your out! Football is a big business and if I owned that team and my star QB says he retiring I'm going to spend big bucks to replace him. Now he wants back in and I've already spent the money on a new guy? Sorry, retire while on top and go raise your damn kids!

Re: What Should Happen With Brett Favre?

All this focus on Favre. . . What about Aaron Rodgers. If I were him, I would tell the Packers to pound sand. But wait, he can't sign with another team because he is under contract with the Packers.

That's fair.

Re: What Should Happen With Brett Favre?

I think the Packers should have released or traded him already. With the success that he brought to the Packers for all those years, you would think they would find a place for him. Even the 49ers found a place for Joe.

If the Packers believe what they are saying, "we have moved on", why not let Favre go? I just wish somebody would chit or get off the pot.

Re: What Should Happen With Brett Favre?

I could not believe what NBC did during the Skins game. All they talked about was Favre and constantly going back and forth with Lambeau Field. It would have made for a great drinking game. Drink everytime Favre is mentioned, or when Madden makes an idiotic statement.
