But what do you think those athletes did back stage away from the cameras?
No one is claiming the Olympics aren't an emotional event. There are probably plenty of tantrums and words exchanged and things thrown back stage.

Again, I will say, do athletes have the right to be upset about the outcome of matches/events/races etc.? YES

Do they ever have the right to assault an official, for doing his job and following the rules no less, or anyone else for that matter? NO, NOTHING that happens within a sport, EVER gives anyone the right to assault someone else. PERIOD. Especially from 'world class' athletes like this clown.

The fact that you still believe that this was a justified and acceptable act is frankly confusing. Just because he is competing on the worlds highest stage for his sport and got DQ'd (within the rules) makes it OK to assault two people? Do you think that Ron Artest and his teammates running into the stands in Detroit and attacking fans was justified? Do you think Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield's ear was acceptable? All of these things are reprehensible and put a black-eye on the sports world.

Yes these events do put a black eye on the world of sports, maybe its my aggressive nature, or the fact that I grew up playing one of the most violent sports out there, I dunno, but I do believe what he did was wrong, you just cant polish a turd no matter how Castro wants spin it. I conceed Chippe. I was wrong in my thinking. You have made me reevaluate my outlook on sports violence.

Total lack of self control as she says. What a loser, he just pissed his career away. I like it when the real person comes out, truly a loser.

If your up for a medal and you get DQed how are you going to act? One would be very pissed, whether you were wrong or not, one would be very very pissed. Whather one acts on it or not are two different things which I am not arguing here. In this instance the Cuban decided to act on it which got him barred from the sport for life. But n omatter I never said he was justified, I said I would have done the same thing no matter how vulgar or obscene you may think it was.

If thats my last time in the Olympics, my last shot at a medal and all of a sudden its all gone, Im pretty sure I would snap too.
are you serious? Lets step back and forget the setting, the DECADES OF MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING HES HAD HAVE TAUGHT HIM TO BE IN CONTROL AT ALL TIMES. This is disgusting that it happened and almost as bad that you are condoning it.
