Dear SEC
Congrats on going 11-1 in the first weekend.
Now would you kindly send MSU to an 0-12 record so we can get rid of that so called head coach running this team. Unbelievable. Its not even September and I am ready for the season to end. Go ahead and pile on. State sucks.

Oh yeah, the SEC made a point this weekend and after TN beats UCLA...maybe the rest of football fans...that aren't SEC, will see how good the SEC really is.

Re: Dear SEC
That was a PC gift. No way was he the best coach in the SEC much less even on his sidelines. He can Thank Ellis Johnson for those wins.

Re: Dear SEC
You have my condolences in your loss to LA Tech. I was pulling for State so that the SEC could run the table this weekend. Even if they did, and Ohio State goes on to their 3rd pounding in a BCS championship by an an SEC team there would still be "experts" in denial harping that the Big 10 or PAC 10 was still the superior conference. I hope the VOLS do their part to further the cause. VOL fan first, SEC (anybody) when they're playing out of conference.

Re: Dear SEC
If they arent playing UGA ill pull for any SEC team, and when they play eachother, it doesnt mater the rank, those are ALWAYS the best games on TV....I was so pissed yesterday, I had to spend the entire game on the PC watching the little ESPN play by play, because I didnt get it down here in Center State FL....oh well its was a good game from what I saw and read, King is steppin up....

Re: Dear SEC
Its safe to say, these assesments from ESPN about the SEC teams are correct:
What we learned in the SEC, Week 1 August 31, 2008 2:00 PM Posted by ESPN.com's Chris Low A look back at what we learned after 10 of the 12 SEC teams opened their seasons Thursday and Saturday. What an impressive win by Nick Saban's Alabama bunch and a win that will no doubt keep on giving on the recruiting front with all the national exposure the Crimson Tide received: Alabama's for real: Forget about needing to get in another recruiting class or two, Alabama looks ready to contend for a Western Division title right now. Granted, it was just one game, but Clemson was a top 10 team. And go back and look at how many freshmen and sophomores played key roles in the Crimson Tide's 34-10 romp. It's safe to say we'll see more of Julio Jones and Mark Ingram as this season goes on. The old veteran, senior quarterback John Parker Wilson, was pretty steady, too. He really looks comfortable in first-year coordinator Jim McElwain's offense. Let's all say it in unison: "Roll Tide!" Alabama has a great chance to be 4-0 heading into the Sept. 27 game at Georgia. Repeat possible for LSU: Quarterback or no quarterback(s), LSU still has all the pieces in place to win another title (or titles). Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee weren't spectacular in the 41-13 win over Appalachian State, but they didn't need to be. The Tigers are good enough around them that they just need to be smart and get the ball to the right people. Here's the other thing: LSU won going away and didn't show much on offense. "We didn't want to show all the good stuff so everybody can have tape on us for the rest of the season," said receiver Brandon LaFell, who had two touchdown catches. "We stuck to the basics in the running game and passing game and went out there and executed." Mississippi State has a long way to go offensively: The Bulldogs were able to gut out a bunch of close wins last season despite generating very little offense. They're going to have a hard time following that pattern to eight or more wins this season. In losing 22-14 at Louisiana Tech, they were shut out in the second half and didn't have a first down in the fourth quarter. It was an ugly start to the season for sophomore quarterback Wesley Carroll, who threw three interceptions and gave way to junior college transfer Tyson Lee. The Bulldogs, who had five turnovers, played without injured left tackle Derek Sherrod, who was out with a foot infection. Maybe No. 1-ranked Georgia is cursed: The Bulldogs looked great in clobbering Georgia Southern, 45-21, in their opener, but lost another key lineman. Defensive tackle Jeff Owens went down with what Georgia coach Mark Richt said was likely a season-ending knee injury. Owens was one of the best interior defensive linemen in the SEC. The Bulldogs were already missing reserve defensive tackle Kade Weston, who was out with a knee sprain. The Bulldogs' first big injury came during the second week of the preseason when left offensive tackle Trinton Sturdivant was lost for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. The injuries are piling up for the Bulldogs. The jury's still out on Auburn's passing game: Kodi Burns and Chris Todd, alternating series in Tony Franklin's new spread offense, combined for just 28 yards passing through the first three quarters, and their longest pass play heading into the final quarter was 7 yards. The Tigers finished with 85 yards passing, but in fairness, didn't need to pass. They had 321 rushing yards and scored on special teams and defense in a 34-0 rout of Louisiana-Monroe. Burns cut his leg and left the game in the third quarter. He did have 69 yards rushing.
