In case you haven't heard, Chad Johnson, flamboyant receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, changed his name to Chad Ocho Cinco.

The NFL has decided to allow the name change to appear on the back of his jersey.

So now he's Ocho Cinco, numero Ochenta Cinco...

He should have changed it to 'He Hate Me'

I think he's retarted. He's pretty much disgracing his name and his family's legacy by doing that. Although, I think anyone from the Philly area would take him on the eagles no matter what it says on the back of the jersey. That's all we ever needed, T.O. brought us to the Super Bowl in the only season he was with us, so they're you go. Anyway, I agree with the one dude in that if that's really true that it's interesting to say the least. Peace.

exactly. it's his name, he can change it all he wants.
i'm sure he can change it back in a couple years when he's retired (or is cut/traded from the Bengals to a team where he can't have the #85).

I'll jump in on the stupido bandwagon. I think its absurd what this fool does to get attention. I love football, but like so many things in life, a small group of idiots can really ruin it for people to enjoy. Guys like Johnson have no respect for the league, or the fans that pay their money to see him play. He doesn't have to care about that because we are the ones paying millions every year to see these fools make a mockery of the game.

I'm not sure how what he puts on his jersey impacts the fact that he can or can't catch the ball? If it bothers you, or you are offended by it, he is successful in making you think about things other than whether or not he can play (and with injury issues, he doesn't want too much time spent on how he plays!)

This response is exactly how I feel. While I think it is comical, uneccessary and even stupid, he certainly has everyone talking about him and if he can get another marketing deal or two out of it, it would be well worth it. A football player's average career lasts 3 years (I believe). If he's lucky he'll get 10 out of his. That's not a long time to cash in. I may not like it but I give him credit.
