Top 100 High School football teams...is your on it?

# 3 was my school's (Bergen Catholic H.S.) biggest rival! I guess BC used to be a powerhouse....at least when I went there in the later 90's!

Florida popped in with 11 if I counted correctly. If you saw the regional reports and the national honorable mentions you saw my sons' team. One on Fresh team the other on Varsity. They got a national honorable mention. They are a perrenial powerhouse. Their season starts at district championship and goes from there. The fans the high school draws is unbelievable. Any normal friday night will draw about 4000 fans. A big game during regular season will draw over 8,000-10,000. For a high school game!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also search out tough talent to play. This year during regular season they will travel to 2 different states to play their power house teams. One trip is 7.5 hours away and the fan base will still travel to see it.

I grew up in Missouri an I thought we had tough football. When I came to Florida I found it was on another level even at the Pop Warner ages.

Best high school football states (in no particular order): Florida, Texas and California. I'll let you guys decide who comes after that, but I see little argument with those 3.

Colerain and St. X are two schools in my area. I went to Anderson, who won state last year and plays St. X every year. Good to see some area teams on the list.

Some really good teams but no true national "power houses" around here.

One consolation is that our quarterback has offers from some ACC teams (Duke, Wake Forest, UNC) and others are coming so we might make a run at state but not sure we're equiped to go all the way. We run a spread offense to let him do his thing running the ball so they will probably move him to tailback or to the defensive secondary. This kid can make his own shadow miss. I've watched a lot of high school football in my years and I've NEVER seen anyone just "play" with tacklers like he does. He had 150 yards rushing before the end of the 1st quarter week before last - then pulled because of the blowout before 1st half was over. 200 rushing/150 passing last week. We're 3 games in and he's already had 3 punt returns for TDs called back because of penalties. I can go on and on...

I was going to say exactly what you said, didn't expect someone to beat me to the punch. I was at BC from '97 - '01. We were killing Don Bosco then and we were ranked in the top ten. I believe 5 was the highest we got.

Ahh, you beat me to it. Independence is the perennial powerhouse here in NC. Not much Friday Night Lights around here.

Texas, Florida, California, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are pretty much top 5 every year. Louisiana is up there as well
